Funeral services for Elda Faye Kruse, 77, Pomona, Missouri, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.
She was born the daughter of the late Ray Jolliff and Virginia Redburn Jolliff, on March 4, 1939 in Howell County, Missouri and died August 19, 2016 in Willow Springs, Missouri.
She is survived by one daughter, Rhonda Faye Dusenbury and her mate, Ryan Pike, Pomona, Missouri; two sisters, Virginia Mae Haggard, Coalinga, California, and Lillie Ruth Wilkerson, Olivehill, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Miranda Killough, Willow Springs, Missouri, Matthew Ray Dusenbury and wife, Jennifer, Cadiz, Kentucky, Ryan Lee Hargove state of Arkansas, and Nicole Hargrove, West Plains; five great grandchildren, Abigail, Allison, and Aiden Killough, Willow Springs, Missouri, and Paxton and Preston Dusenbury, Cadiz, Kentucky.
Charles L. Collins, son of the late Burley Collins and Gladys Hicks Collins, was born March 1, 1944 in West Plains, Missouri and died July 30, 2016 in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 72 years.
He was united in marriage November 27, 2011 in West Plains, Missouri to Kathy Driskell.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Driskell Collins, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; one daughter, Lisa Thompson and husband Charley, West Plains, Missouri; four step children, Buddy Driskell and wife Athena; Chris Driskell and wife Candace; Kathy Driskell, and Heather Tucker and husband Eddie, all of Springfield, Missouri; one brother, Basil Collins and wife Patricia, Willow Springs, Missouri; one sister, Wanda Hill, Pomona, Missouri; two grandchildren,
Mae Reasons, 87, West Plains, Missouri, entered into eternal glory Sunday, July 24, 2016 while residing at West Vue.
Mae was born November 10, 1928 in Viola, Arkansas, to James Olen Rosier and Jodie Lou Ozbirn Rosier. She graduated from Viola High School in 1946. She was a basketball player during school and after high school she and her sister were recruited to play for the “Red Heads,” a
professional women’s traveling basketball team. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Duke and UNC college basketball teams.
In 1946 she married T. J. Reasons in Viola, Arkansas. They moved to Kansas City where she began working at Montgomery Ward. After moving to West Plains, she was one of the first school bus drivers for West Plains Schools. She then worked eight years as Howell Valley School’s first secretary and served as the girls volleyball coach. She then worked seventeen years at Fair View School as the office secretary. Rather than retiring, she then worked as a courier for nine years for the now known Landmark Bank. She also volunteered at OMC for a few years. While working at the schools and bank, in 1973, she opened and operated “Fireworks City,” across from the Dairy Queen, which became known as “Crazy Mae’s Fireworks.” Her family continues to operate the fireworks business. Mae was a hard worker, having grown up on a farm in tough times, learning the skill of honest, hard work.
Ms. Reasons served as a volunteer phone operator at First Baptist Church, where her smile and wit were so well received. She was a member since1964. She also helped with the church’s Food Bank. She was a true “bring a smile to your face” member. Her devotion to Jesus was evident in her love of others.
Mae has always been known for her humor and wit in any setting. She could take an ordinary conversation and turn it into rolling laughter. Her spunk never missed a punch to give someone advice. “Kiss my grits” was one of her most known verbal comebacks. Anyone who knows her can testify that it was never a guess what she meant when she said something. Knowing Mae was the brightest moment a person could have. Her love and devotion for her family was fierce and they will miss her terribly.
She is survived by daughter, Sandy Putnam, West Plains; son, Tim Reasons, Orange, Texas. Four grandchildren; Lisa Brassfield and husband Jim; Brian Hale and wife Angela; T. J. Temple and wife Alanna; Robby Temple. Great grandchildren: Preslee Sukow, Jacob (Carrie) Brassfield, Jamie (Zac) Hollingshad, Ashley (Jesse) Martinosky, Evan Hale, L. J. Temple, Anna Ruth Temple. Great great grandchildren, Jack, Scarlet, Sapphire, Zeke, Ezra. One sister Oneta Oliver and husband Frank, several nieces, nephews, cousins, special family members Dr. Greg and Cindy Temple; John, Krystle, Jaiden and Jackson Hale, and many many friends.
Her parents, one son, Jim Reasons; son-in-law, Jeff Putnam; one brother, David B Rosier and three sisters, Pauline Wood, Mary Lou Brison and Anna Mae Hampton, precede her in death.
Visitation will be held at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, July 26th.
Funeral services will be at the First Baptist Church, 202 Walnut, West Plains, on Wednesday July 27th at 10:00 a.m. with Rev David Ball officiating and with burial in the Howell Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please give to the First Baptist Church Upward Basketball or Awana, or to the Gideon Bibles.
Funeral Services for Wanda Mae Frost Taylor, 84, Pomona, Missouri, will be 10:00am Monday, July 25, 2016, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains with the Brother Rick Rutledge officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.
She was born the daughter of Riley Blankenship and Dorothy Turner Blankenship on September 23, 1931 in Alton , Missouri and died July 22, 2016 in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 84 years.
She was united in marriage March 18, 1947 in Alton, Missouri, to Joy Frost who preceded her in death on September 16, 1988. She was united in marriage March 11, 1995 in West Plains, Missouri to William Taylor.
She is survived by her husband, William Taylor, of the home, in Pomona, Missouri; one daughter, Lyna Ballentine of Wright City, Missouri; one son, Tony Frost and wife, Carmelita of Pomona, Missouri; one grandson, Steven Smith and wife, Becky of Battlecreek, Michigan; one granddaughter, Leonila Fazzino and husband, Anthony of Springfeld, Missouri; three great granddaughters, Christara Smith of Denver, Colorado, Carmelita Smith of Springfield, Missouri, and her latest great granddaughter, Sicily Fazzino of Springfeld Missouri, whom she greatly enjoyed; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joy Frost; her parents Riley Blankenship and Dorothy Turner Blankenship; and two sisters, Beaulah Deckard and Betty Holmes.
She was an employed by Mountain View Fabrication for several years making coin acceptors. She was of the Pentecostal faith and will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will truly be missed.
Family visitation will be Sunday 6-8pm.
Burial will be in Bailey Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
Jean Bohrer Davidson (Age 91) died on July 21, 2016 in her beloved hometown of West Plains, Missouri.
A native of West Plains, MO she was born on June 10th, 1925 the daughter of Charles R. Bohrer and
Linnie Arnold Bohrer.
She graduated from West Plains High School with the class of 1943 and was always proud to be a Zizzer. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor degree from Rollins College where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She received her Masters Degree in Education from Drury University and taught Senior English at West Plains High School for 20 years. She took pride in her own self-proclaimed nickname of “Mean Jean”. Many of her students returned to visit her after attending college to thank her for being “Mean Jean” by preparing them for the challenges of college English.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she played the organ for 16 years. She was a “50 Year” member of Chapter CM of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She enjoyed serving as a member of the Ozark Public Television Board of Directors for a number of years.
Playing bridge, playing tennis, going to professional tennis matches, and traveling were the joys of her life. For a number of years after retiring she and her husband, Boze, traveled and made friends all over the world. Her advice was always that “if you get a chance to go somewhere, go”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, John L. Brown, Charleston, South Carolina, husband Carrick “Boze” Davidson, brother Dr. Charles A. Bohrer, and sister Judith Bohrer Minderman.
Survivors include her sons John L. Davidson, of St. Louis, M0, wife Diane; Richard J. “Dick” Davidson, West Plains, wife Nancy, Charles Carrick Brooke-Davidson, Wimberley, TX, wife Jennifer; grandchildren Richard C. Davidson, Lori Davidson Dimun, husband Ross, Linnie Davidson, Anne Davidson, Tradd Davidson, wife Stephanie, Emma Brooke-Davidson, and Kate Brooke Davidson; greatgrandchildren Savannah Jean, Harper Anne, and Charlie Davidson; Sister-in-law Doris S. Bohrer; brother-in-law Dick Minderman; nephews Frank C. James and Jason P. Bohrer; several great nieces and nephews; and longtime family friend Matt Negri, St. Louis, MO.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM at Carter Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 27th. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations made be made to the Chapter CM of the P.E.O. scholarship fund or the West Plains Public Library.
Thomas Kruzen, 69, Mountain View, Missouri, died July 15, 2016 at his home in Mountain View, Missouri.
He was married September 9, 1978 in Green Island, Iowa to Debbie Wickboldt.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie “Angel” Kruzen of the home; three children, Keiron, Tristan, and Maia; four grandchildren, Liam, Zander, Austin, and Annabel, and one brother Darrel Kruzen.
He served in the Peace Corp in India in 1969. Over his lifetime he has helped and touched many, many lives all over the world.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later time in the spring of next year.

He was united in marriage November 10, 1953 in Tunkhanock, Pennsylvania to Barbara Sands.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sands Ruger, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; three sons, Gene Ruger and wife Patsy, and Dale Ruger, all of West Plains, Missouri, and Allen Ruger and wife Debbie of Ceres, California; seven grandchildren and step grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

She was born the daughter of the late Gerald Tucker and Helen Akins Tucker, on April 18, 1957 in Rockford, Illinois.
