Funeral services for Ivene Martin, 87, Dora, Missouri, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains with Pastor Betty Stanley officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
She was born the daughter of the late Frank Ballinger and Ina Fay Tilman Ballinger, on October 20, 1929 in Dora, Missouri and died December 18, 2016 in West Plains, Missouri.
She was united in marriage March 1951 to Eldon Nathaniel Martin, who preceded her in death July 9, 1988.
She is survived by two children, James Ivan Martin and wife Barbara, Edgewater, Florida and Eldena Williams and husband Timothy, Dora, Missouri; one brother, Estyl Ballinger, West Plains, Missouri; two sisters, Wilma Ballinger, Gordon, Nebraska, and Zella Ballinger, Pulper, Pennsylvania;
Mary Elizabeth Kinyon Hill, was born the daughter of Oscar Kinyon and Chloe (Chastain) Kinyon on November 18, 1930, in Koshkonong, Missouri and departed this life on December 14, 2016 in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 86 years.
She was united in marriage on April 29, 1950 in Salem, Arkansas to James “Peck” Hill who preceded her in death on June 11, 1996.
She is survived by one daughter, Rhonda Hill of Thayer, Missouri; one son, Michael Hill of Seymour, Indiana; one brother, Oscar Henry Kinyon of Largo, Florida; one nephew, Kerry Kinyon of Largo, Florida; and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Chloe Kinyon; her husband, James “Peck”Hill; one brother, Charlie Kinyon, and one infant brother.
Mrs. Hill was a member of the First Baptist Church in Thayer, Missouri.
She was a dedicated homemaker, a devoted wife, mother and sister. She will truly be missed by her family and many friends.

Ethel Mae Risner was born the daughter of Fred Phillips and Cyntitha (Jewell) Phillips on February 28, 1924, in Koshkonong, Missouri, and departed this life on December 14, 2016, in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 92 years.
She was united in marriage on January 21, 1941 in Fulton County, Arkansas, to Frandell Risner who preceded her in death on December 4, 2010.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Risner and wife, Linda of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and Ronnie Risner and wife, Brenda of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; two grandchildren; eight great granchilldren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Minnie Bell Risner of Belle Plaine, Iowa, and Cecil Marie Young of Little Rock, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frandell Risner; her parents, Fred and Cyntitha Phillips; one daughter, Janice Carol Davis; two grandchildren; and one sister, Gladys Powell; and one brother, Howard Phillips.
She was a Christian and attended Clifton Free Will Baptist Church in Thayer, Missouri.
Ethel received her education at Big Rock School in Fulton County, Arkansas. She worked for ten years at the shirt factory in Salem as an inspector, but she spent most of her life as a homemaker.
She was an excellent cook and liked to cook for her family and friends. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning green beans and other vegetables.. She will truly be missed by her family and many friends.

Charlotte Louise Harrell was born the daughter of Boyd Chaney and Mary Louise (Cooper) Chaney on June 22, 1943 in Dallas, Texas and departed this life on December 7, 2016 at her home in Hardy, Arkansas, at the age of 73 years.
She was united in marriage on May 22, 1973 in Dallas, Texas to Bobby Harrell.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Harrell, of the home in Hardy, Arkansas; one son, Jonathan Lee Curtis; one step-son, Patrick Harrell and wife, Debbie; five grandchildren, Christina Stevens and husband, Eric, Nicki Hanson and husband, Andy, Brittany Earl and husband, Todd, Tiffany Burton and husband, Andy and Chrissy Harrell; six great grandchildren, Jasmine Stevens, Hadassah, Ryiah, Elijah and Hezekiah Hanson, and Wilson Burton; one brother, James Donald Chaney; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Mary Louise Chaney.
Charlotte was a member of the Oak Cliff Assembly of God church in Texas.
She spent her working life as a secretary. During her career, Charlotte was a secretary for Dr. James Dobson and later worked at Texas A&M University. Charlotte liked being outdoors. She enjoyed camping and raising and growing things in her garden. She was especially proud of her roses. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Graveside services will be held Monday, December 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, Missouri with Andy Hanson officiating.
Burial with be in the Thayer Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

David Nelson Frealy was born the son of Eugene Stanley Frealy and Maggie Faye (Tyner) Frealy on October 17, 1929 in Doniphan, Missouri, and departed this life on December 7, 2016 at his home in Thayer, Missouri, at the age of 87 years.
He was united in marriage on February 22, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri to Jacqueline Ann Vivian.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Ann Frealy, of the home in Thayer, Missouri; seven children, Deborah Lundry and husband, Everett, Glennon Frealy and wife, Brenda, Linda Frealy, Donald Frealy, Kathryn Weiss and husband, James, Barbara Mustion and husband, Terry, and Stanley Frealy and wife, Lanette; twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one brother, Bob Frealy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Maggie Frealy; one grandchild, Austin James Frealy; four brothers, Eugene, Austin, Bill and Jackie Frealy; and four sisters, Mary Lou Tourigny, Faye Frealy, Betty Scharff and Alice Frealy.
David was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served in Korea and was a two time recipient of the Purple Heart. After resigning from the Army, David enlisted with the U.S. Air Force. He was in the Air Force until he retired after over twenty years of service.
After his military service, David operated a sawmill, making various wood products, for over thirty years.
David was very involved in the Masons. He was a member of the Clifton Masonic Lodge in Thayer. He was a charter and life member of the Omar Temple of the Shrine in Charleston, South Carolina. He was also a member of both the Scottish and York Rites. For many years, he performed the funeral rites for fellow Masons.
David was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Thayer, Missouri.
He was always charitable to both friends and strangers. In the last few years, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Thayer, Missouri with Father Shoby M. Chettiyath officiating.
The family received friends on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer. Masonic funeral rites were conducted during the visitation.
Burial was in the Koshkonong Cemetery in Koshkonong, Missouri.

He was born the son of Joshua Swims and Tabitha Jones, on October 28, 2016 in West Plains, Missouri and died November 28, 2016 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Alene Mefford, daughter of the late Albert Mefford and Vera Sewell Mefford, was born November 13, 1943 in Thayer, Missouri and died December 4, 2016 in Salem, Arkansas at the age of 73 years.
She is survived by three children, Telesa Peek and husband Randy, West Plains, Missouri; Bob Johnson and wife Racquel, Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Connie Cunningham, Mountain Home, Arkansas; one brother, Amon Mefford and wife Carolyn, West Plains, Missouri; three sisters, Joan Bunch, West Plains, Missouri, Judy Henson, West Plains, Missouri, and Shirley McCutchen and husband Mike, Thayer, Missouri;
Hurley Cowen, 80, the son of William Erwin and Nannie Mae Cowen, was born on November 17, 1936 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. He departed this life on November 25, 2016 in Salem, Arkansas.
Hurley is survived by his wife, Marion Cowen of Fryatt, Arkansas; son, Randy (Stacey) Cowen of Koshkonong, Missouri; and daughter, Shelley Carter of Mountain Home, Arkansas; sister, Carol McCord of Winfield, Missouri; three stepchildren – David Pearce of Overland Park, Kansas, Thomas Pearce of Mariposa, California, and Kate Pearce of Stilwell, Kansas; stepsister, Hasseltine Coats; and stepbrother, Larry Lewis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Joyce Cowen; two daughters, Linda Collins and Karen Cowen; one stepson, Chris Pearce; one sister, Jackie Martin; and one stepsister, Arlene Bishop.
Hurley is also survived by nine grandchildren; Amanda Owens, Derek Cowen, Brittany Hunter, Jessica Ramon, Jennifer Carter, Chance Elliott, Casey Pearce, Joe Pearce and Erin Pearce Elliott; several great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and cousins.
Prior to retirement, Hurley was a builder, cabinet maker and remodeler of homes. He was also a member of the Eagles Club in Thayer, Missouri.
Among many of his hobbies, Hurley most loved to play his Gibson guitar and study astronomy. He also spent countless hours working, relaxing and fishing at his beloved pond on the property in Fryatt. He was naturally curious with a sly sense of humor, which made him that unique person who would share the beauty of the universe through a telescope with you, while at the same time entertain you with song or simply be that person you could laugh with while watching Bugs Bunny.
He will be greatly missed by many friends and family.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Fryatt Cemetery in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas with Erman Croney officiating.
Burial will be in Fryatt Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home in Thayer.
