Ola Leta Risner was born the daughter of James H. Ary and Leona Janes Ary on March 15, 1907 in Ada, Oklahoma and departed this life May 11, 2012 at West Vue Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 105 years.

 She is survived by one son, Norman Risner and wife, Linda of West Plains, Missouri; two grandsons, Mark Risner of West Plains, Missouri, and Kent Risner of Myrtle, Missouri; three great granddaughters, Sadee, Calee and Emilee Risner, all of Myrtle, Missouri; one brother, J.D. Ary of Thayer, Missouri; two sisters, Hazel Bennett and Mary Lee Parnell, both of West Plains, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James H. and Leona Ary; her husband, Newt Risner; four brothers, Lawrence, Lehman, Lloyd and Floyd Ary and one sister, Ora Harper.

Mrs. Risner was an excellent cook and well known for her delicious pies and cinnamon rolls. Not only was she a wonderful cook, she also taught her three granddaughters her secrets of being a good cook. She will be remembered for her ability to cook the wild game that all of the men in her family brought home, as well as, her great variety of pastries.

She was active in the Guiteau Extension Club, was a loyal friend and good neighbor to all.

Ola was of the Protestant faith and in earlier years attended the Cane Hill Sunday School and Church near Thayer and also the Guiteau Church in the Garfield Community.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will truly be missed by all of her family and her many friends.

She was united in marriage in 1928 at Alton, Missouri to Newton “Newt” Risner, who preceded her in death March 7, 1985.

Funeral services for OLA RISNER, age 105 of West Plains, Missouri, formerly of Myrtle, Missouri, will be Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in the Arytown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Arytown cemetery or the Heart of the Ozarks Quail Forever Fund and left at the funeral home.
