Celebration of Life Services for Jerry W. Johnsen, 69, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains with pastor Jeff Smith officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

He was born the son of the late Roland Johnsen and Twylia Hayden Johnsen, on January 21, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois, and died June 2, 2013 at his home in West Plains, Missouri.

He was united in marriage June 21, 1983 in Aurora, Illinois to Candice Baker Mathieu.

He is survived by his wife, Candice Baker Johnsen, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; one daughter, Kendra Williamson and husband, Jimmy, Braidwood, Illinois; one son, Kyle Johnsen, Chicago, Illinois; one brother, Danny Johnsen and wife, Luann, Montgomery, Illinois; two sisters, Pam Johnsen, Darien, Illinois, and Pat Coniglio, Darien, Illinois; two grandchildren, Samantha and Tanner Williamson, both of Braidwood, Illinois, and two step grandchildren, MiKayla and Carter Mathieu, both of Chetek, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roland Johnsen and Twylia Hayden Johnsen, and one step son, Steve Mathieu.

He was a member of Genesis Church in West Plains. He served his country with the United States Navy as a radio operator aboard ship. He was a jack of all trades and at the height of his career he was the production managerĀ for BRK Electronics. He enjoyed sports, watching TV and Civil War history. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed eating out together. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and friend to many, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Burial will be at a later date in Forest Lawn Cemetery, LaSalle, Illinois.
