Otto Lovel Honeycutt was born the son of Joseph H. Honeycutt and Iva Lodena (Cox) Honeycutt on January 20, 1917 in Thayer, Missouri and departed this life August 12, 2012 in Thayer, Missouri at the age of 95 years.
He was united in marriage January 19, 1937 at Thayer, Missouri to Grace Christine Hackworth, who preceded him in death on May 4, 2008.
He is survived by seven children, Lucille Underwood and husband, Ralph, Eddie Honeycutt and wife, Mary Jane, Sue Burkhead and husband, Bill, Linda K. Brewer and husband, Junior, David Honeycutt and wife, Linda, all of Thayer, Missouri, and Brenda Garrison and husband, David and Lana Chester and husband, Rick of Myrtle, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren, Jed Underwood and wife, Sandy, Jim Underwood and wife, Shelley, Jill Underwood and husband, Matt, Randy Honeycutt and wife, Debbie, Jeff Honeycutt and wife, Terrie, Kevin Honeycutt and wife, Julie, Greg Burkhead and wife, Kim, Regina Stevens and husband, Scott, Leah Langley, Bill Honeycutt and wife, Carrie, Steve Honeycutt and wife, Lisa, Davie Honeycutt, Rhonda Simpson and husband, Matt, Robyn Sims and husband, Ben, Kristi Chester, Hollie Pitts and husband, Jamie, and Brian Chester and wife, Jessica; thirty-four great grandchildren, Jared, Logan, Megan, Jade, Heather, Ashton, Kalon, Eric, Shelbi, Sierra, Krey, Josh, David, Darrin, Brad, Nick, Micah, Summer, Zyman, Zerek, Zachary, Morgan, Molly, Aaron, Ashley, Cayson, Aniston, Garrett, Shelby, Dylan, Sydney, Dusty, Gracie and Quaid; seventeen great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Neva DeVault and Neta Frase-Ennis; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Iva Honeycutt; his wife, Grace Honeycutt; one granddaughter, Angela Sorrell; one great granddaughter, Meghan Honeycutt; one granddaughter-in-law, Crystal Chester; one sister, Nevia Tucker and one brother, Roscoe Honeycutt.
“Ott” was a self-employed farmer, an avid outdoorsman and appreciated the beauty of nature. He loved to squirrel and coon hunt but especially enjoyed listening to his favorite coon dogs while on a good hunt.
He loved his wife, Grace and their large family and always looked forward to each of their visits, especially the Sunday dinners they shared together.
Otto was of the Baptist faith; a caring and loving husband, father and grandfather and will truly be missed by all.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer with Brother Jason Roberts and Brother Wayne Cloven officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Arytown/Pleasant Hill Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
Gordon Manuel England was born the son of Marion Nixon and Dora (Hall) England on March 19, 1917 in Myrtle, Missouri and departed this life on August 11, 2012 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 95 years.
He was united in marriage at Billmore, Missouri on April 27, 1947 to his childhood friend, Bertha Leona Mitchell. They enjoyed more than sixty-five happy years together.
He is survived by his wife, Bertha England of the home in Myrtle, Missouri; one daughter, Diane England Olson and husband, Steven of Durham, North Carolina; one grandson, Thomas Olson of Durham, North Carolina; one brother, Noah England and wife, Wanda of Thayer, Missouri; one sister, Lula Lamere of Alton, Illinois and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Dora England; five brothers, Hanford, Walter, Daniel, David, and Clifford England and one sister, Ella James.
Gordon was a Veteran, enlisting in the U. S. Navy and after receiving medical training, transferred to the U. S. Marine Corps. He served as a medic with the 4th Marine Division on Iwo Jima until the end of World War II.
After returning from the war, Mr. England enjoyed farming and earned his Bachelors of Education to become a high school teacher. He taught history and social studies for a total of 41 years with 33 of those years being in the Couch R-I School District, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Myrtle, Missouri and a Mason. He loved fishing on Mill Creek and was always willing to help someone in need.
He was a strong, Christian man; a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a great friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services were today, Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer, Missouri with Brother George Box officiating. Burial was in the Thayer Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
Andrew J. Van Camp II, of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the age of 68 years.
Andy, as he was known by his family and friends, was born on August 13, 1943 at Corpus Christi, Texas to Andrew J. and Nadine Avaughn (Zimmerling) Van Camp, Sr. He was raised in Kansas City, Missouri and in the early 1970’s moved to Sullivan. Andy was employed with the Missouri Department of Conservation in Sullivan from 1971 to 1979 and later worked for a time in St. Louis in the electronic industry. He later became an instructor at East Central College in Union, Missouri teaching electronics and CIM and CAM applications and operations. While there, he was Interim Dean of Vocational Education for a time. On July 18, 1981 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Hoyt at Sullivan. Andy was a member of the First Christian Church of Union and was involved in many of the church activities there. He enjoyed working with his hands and loved to read. His other pleasures were traveling, hiking and biking. He was known to have an inquisitive mind and was presently writing a book. Andy was also past District Governor of the Optimist Club. Those who have known him, will miss his pleasant personality and devoted friendship.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth of the family home; two sons, Andrew J. Van Camp III and wife, Connie of Olathe, Kansas and Darrin Van Camp of Kansas City, Missouri; his mother, Nadine Van Camp of Kansas City; two brothers, Steven Van Camp of Independence, Missouri and Kenny Van Camp of Independence; four sisters, Kathy Miller and husband, Danny of Harrisonville, Missouri, Patty Harris of Independence, Missouri, Sherry Dillenger and special friend, Bobby Garcia; Andrea Jo Suos and husband, Tony, all of Independence, Missouri; numerous grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Along with his father, Andy was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Van Camp, and four sisters, Sandra Van Camp, Gayle Van Camp, Judith Wyrick and Debra Van Camp.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 4:00 PM in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Saturday from 3:00 PM until service time. Burial will be in the Arytown/Pleasant Hill Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer. She was born the daughter of the late James Myricks and Alice Myricks, on March 2, 1934 in Malden, Missouri and died August 1, 2012 in West Plains, Mo.
She was united in marriage November 14, 1953 in Risco, Missouri to Louis Moore.
She is survived by one daughter, LaDonna Caraway and husband Randy; two grandchildren, Trey Caraway and wife Rachelle and Amanda Bell and husband Christopher; three great grandchildren, Randall Caraway, Austin Caraway, and Hailie Bell, all of West Plains; one brother, Everett Hardy of California; two sisters, Margie Garrett, Pleasant Garden, North Carolina and Joyce Green, Parma, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Moore; her parents James Myricks and Alice Myricks; one brother, Clifford Roharbauch and two sisters, Lois Allen and Lillian Dejournett.
She worked at the shoe factory for over 30 years and was a farmer. She attended the Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle, West Plains.
Harold Wayne Havens passed away July 29, 2012 in West Plains, Missouri.
Harold was born December 21, 1945 in Willow Springs, Missouri to James and Janet (Webb) Havens.
When he was seven, the family moved to Lyle, Washington. Harold joined the Navy in 1966 and was very proud of his service time. He worked in Electronics Manufacturing in Oregon until he returned to Howell County eleven years ago. Harold was active in the Lost Camp Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles and is survived by brother Guy, and sister, Lu.
A memorial service will be held August 11, 2012 at 10:00am at the Lost Camp Baptist Church.
Bobby Joe Hightower was born the son of Jody Franklin Hightower and Vera Lou Martin Hightower on August 5, 1942 in Saddle, Arkansas and departed this life July 27, 2012 in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 69 years.
He was united in marriage May 22, 1964 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas to Patsy Hunsperger.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy of the home in Thayer, Missouri; one sister, Virginia Murphy and husband, Danny of Ash Flat, Arkansas; two nephews, Danny McGuire and wife, Wanita of Glencoe, Arkansas and Gary Conway of Ash Flat, Arkansas; many extended family members and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Hightower and his parents, Jody and Vera Hightower.
He was a member of the Thayer Free Will Baptist Church and Clifton Masonic Lodge 463 in Thayer, Missouri.
Bobby Joe was a retired engineer for BNSF Railroad, retiring in 2004 after many years of service.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed Cardinal Baseball and Arkansas Razorback Basketball. He was a gardener and enjoyed growing tomatoes.
Bobby Joe will be remembered for his pleasant personality, playing jokes on people and his sense of humor. He will also be remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother and uncle. He will truly be missed by his family, his church family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Hightower will be held, Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Carter Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Richard Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wayside Cemetery near Koshkonong.
Noril E. Smith was born the son of Lee Theodore and Goldie Frances (Fisher) Smith on December 8, 1928 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and departed this life on July 23, 2012 at Crownpoint Health and Rehab in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, at the age of 83 years.
He was united in marriage at Mammoth Spring, Arkansas on July 1, 1950 to Katy Christian, who preceded him in death on February 24, 1998.
He is survived by one son, Richard Smith of Ash Flat, Arkansas; three daughters, Dorothy Sprouse and husband, Onan of Corning, Arkansas, Jeanetta Moore and husband, Clint of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas and Mary Weiand and husband, Tony of Ash Flat, Arkansas; one grandson that he raised as his own son, Scott Smith and wife, Mary of Viola, Arkansas; nine other blessed grandchildren, Dovie, Eric Dale, Crystal, Jr. Dean, Kristy, Michael, Deanna, Amanda and Richard Eric; several great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Katy Smith; one son, Dean Smith; his parents, Lee and Goldie Smith; five brothers and three sisters.
Noril was a heavy equipment operator for more than thirty years at the old Mainprize Rock Quarry in Thayer and later retired from Kings Asphalt Paving.
Mr. Smith lived his entire life in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. He loved to fish, dirt track race with his son’s, and ride motorcycles. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
He was of the Baptist faith, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and son-in-law. He will truly be missed by his family and many friends.

Christopher James Nelson was born the son of Paul Lester Nelson and Dora May (Hamilton) Nelson on March 10, 1968 in South Amboy, New Jersey and died July 22, 2012 in Brandsville, Missouri at the age of 44 years.
He was united in marriage on May 27, 2003 at Salem, Arkansas to Stacy Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Stacy Nelson of the home in Brandsville, Missouri; two children, Kaylee Nelson and Christopher Nelson, both of the home in Brandsville, Missouri; one step-son, Brandon Thompson of Brandsville, Missouri; two brothers, Lester Nelson and wife, Maria of Tennessee and Chris’ twin, Kenny Nelson of New Jersey; one sister, Beverly Nelson of Branson, Missouri; two half-sisters, Marjorie and Tracy of New Jersey; his grandmother, Minerva McKenzie of Brandsville, Missouri; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bobby and Neta Thompson of Brandsville, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Dora Nelson; one brother, Raymond Nelson and his stepfather, Charles Weidner.
Chris enjoyed over-the-road trucking; driving for US Express as long as health permitted. At the time of his death, he was employed by Ball Brothers Forest Products in Koshkonong, working as a sawmill edger.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time on the beaches in New Jersey, catching crabs.
Christopher served in the United States Army National Guard. He was a devoted husband and father and will truly be missed by his family and many friends.

Thelma Ruth Murphy was born the daughter of Milton Dickey and Frankie (Dwiggins) Dickey on October 23, 1921 in Salina, Kansas and died July 17, 2012 at Shady Oaks Healthcare in Thayer, Missouri at the age of 90 years.
She was united in marriage on May 3, 1938 in Oregon County, Missouri to Alvin Murphy, who preceded her in death on February 22, 2006.
She is survived by nine children, Shirley Hunsperger and husband, Junior of Brandsville, Missouri, Betty Baldridge and husband, Everett of Hardy, Arkansas, Ruth Cornell and husband, Jim of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Bertha Jean Huffmaster and husband, Danny of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Louise Bishop of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Alvin D. Murphy and wife, Diane of Centerton, Arkansas, Neoma Todd and husband, Harold of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Joey Murphy and wife, Linda of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and Anna Belle Gengler and husband, Richard of LeMars, Iowa; twenty-two grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Frankie Dickey; her husband, Alvin Murphy; three great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters.
Thelma was a member of the Church of Christ of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. She was a quilter of rags; enjoyed her flower garden, collecting seeds and fishing in the Jackie Privett Lake. Most of all, she loved her grandkids, who were the light of her life.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Children’s Homes of Paragould, Arkansas. Memorial contributions may be left at the Carter Funeral Home in Thayer.
