Christopher Nelson

Christopher James Nelson was born the son of Paul Lester Nelson and Dora May (Hamilton) Nelson on March 10, 1968 in South Amboy, New Jersey and died July 22, 2012 in Brandsville, Missouri at the age of 44 years.

He was united in marriage on May 27, 2003 at Salem, Arkansas to Stacy Thompson.

He is survived by his wife, Stacy Nelson of the home in Brandsville, Missouri; two children, Kaylee Nelson and Christopher Nelson, both of the home in Brandsville, Missouri; one step-son, Brandon Thompson of Brandsville, Missouri; two brothers, Lester Nelson and wife, Maria of Tennessee and Chris’ twin, Kenny Nelson of New Jersey; one sister, Beverly Nelson of Branson, Missouri; two half-sisters, Marjorie and Tracy of New Jersey; his grandmother, Minerva McKenzie of Brandsville, Missouri; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bobby and Neta Thompson of Brandsville, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Dora Nelson; one brother, Raymond Nelson and his stepfather, Charles Weidner.

Chris enjoyed over-the-road trucking; driving for US Express as long as health permitted. At the time of his death, he was employed by Ball Brothers Forest Products in Koshkonong, working as a sawmill edger.

He loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time on the beaches in New Jersey, catching crabs.

Christopher served in the United States Army National Guard. He was a devoted husband and father and will truly be missed by his family and many friends.

The family of Chris Nelson, will receive friends on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer. Arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
