Michael Lindberg, 81, West Plains, Missouri, son of the late Felix Vernon Lindberg and Ruth Olive Patch Lindberg passed away June 8, 2023 at his home in West Plains, Missouri.
The family of Mr. Lindberg are planning to have a Celebration of Life. Arrangements will be announced at a later time.
Charlotte Ann McNeal, 85, was born in Kirksville, Missouri on May 20, 1938, to Edward Joseph Fahey and LaVina Hudnut Fahey. She passed away at her home on August 29, 2023, in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.
Charlotte started early in her career at FedEx and from there was asked personally by Fred Smith to help establish the Fedex Corporate Credit Association as the founding CEO in 1974. She retired from that position in 2000.
Charlotte was very active in her high school as she was a part of Band, Choir, Student Council, Staff Paper, Basketball, and Softball. She graduated in 1956 from Lagrange High School in Lagrange, Missouri. She was very well known in the Softball and Financial communities in her earlier years which formed many lifelong friendships and played many roles in both.
Charlotte loved to entertain and travel and enjoyed visiting a casino. Charlotte and her husband Tom McNeal (deceased) who flew their own plane. She rode her own motorcycle and she loved to scuba dive.
Charlotte finally moved where her heart lead her, from city living to river living in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas where she has many friends that she loves.
Charlotte, also known as “Shorty” and “Nana” by all of her closest family and friends, was a true matriarch to them all and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her three children, Wes McNeal (DeAnne),Victoria Sanders(John) and
Jetry McNeal (Debbie); three grandchildren Courtney ( Kale) Fultz, Maggie (Dakota)Crowder and Cody McNeal; three great-grandchildren; cousins Ted Cottrell (Yvonne) and Peggy Cottrell Steinbeck (John); her little buddy Josh Martin, a sweet pure soul that prayed for her endlessly and her dearest friend and companion, Sherry Sanders whose children and grandchildren she loved as her own, along with her beloved dog Teddy and cat, Gingersnap.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at Charlotte’s home 109 Spring Lake Drive, Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Norma Collins, daughter of the late Jimmy Acklin and Virginia Lewin Acklin, was born May 5, 1941 in Hamilton, Missouri and died August 28, 2023 in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 82 years.
She was united in marriage December 18, 1955 in Miami, Oklahoma to Deward Collins, who preceded her in death March 31, 2020.
She is survived by eleven children, Ricky Collins (Charlene), Tulsa, Oklahoma; Timmy Collins (Tina), West Plains, Missouri; Linda Barks (Ricky), West Plains, Missouri; Sheila Sanders (Mike), West Plains, Missouri; Brenda Aul, Springfield, Missouri; Debbie Barks, West Plains, Missouri; Deward Collins, Jr., West Plains, Missouri; Teresa Brewood (T.J.), Siloam Springs, Arkansas; Rachel Redburn (Rolin) West Plains, Missouri; Chris Collins (Dale), Willow Springs, Missouri, and Jessie Collins (David), West Plains, Missouri; one brother, Frankie Lane, Independence, Missouri, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Jesse Cline; three sisters, Nancy Cline, Phyllis Fisher, and Patty Merideth; one grandson, Anson Collins and one great grandson, Huston.
She cherished each and every moment she spent with her family. She loved going on road trips with her girls. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Johnny Gene Jewell, age 76 of West Plains, Missouri passed away August 25, 2023, at National Healthcare in West Plains, Missouri. Johnny was born September 29, 1946, to Lawrence and Maggie (Carter) Jewell in Koshkonong, Missouri.
Johnny married the love of his life Judy Hiller on May 4, 1968, in Marquette, Michigan. They were happily married for fifty-five years. During this union two daughters were born Jennifer and Jamie.
John proudly served in the US Air force for three years and five months. After that he opened and ran Jewell’s Auto Repair in Thayer, Missouri for twenty years. John liked gardening, working outside and reading. John loved to listen to Bluegrass music, helping others, spending time with his family and playing with his grandkids.
John didn’t go to church, but he was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife Judy; two daughters Jennifer Girdley of West Plains, Missouri and Jamie Johnson, husband Arnell of Cassville, Missouri; five grandchildren Austin Houts, Devin Girdley, Avrie Girdley, Jonathan Jewell and Hanna Johnson; three great-grandchildren Hadley Houts, Haylen Houts and Finn Johnson; brother Henry Jewell, wife Ruth of Thayer, Missouri, brother Jimmy Jewell, of Thayer, Missouri, sister Alice Jennings, husband Finnely of Crane, Missouri, brother Teddy Jewell of Thayer, Missouri, sister Patsy Eagleburger, husband Eric of Walnut Grove, Missouri; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two half-brothers; and one half-sister.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri. Visitation will be August 30, at 12:00 until time of the service.
Interment will be on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, in Shiloh Grand Gulf Cemetery, Koshkonong, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.

On August 11, 2023, Lady Lesa Samuels passed away. Lesa is survived by a host of family and friends, stunned in disbelief of such a bright light taken away so young. Lesa was an exceptionally rare treasure who possessed a seemingly endless well of love from which Lesa freely drew and shared. It didn’t matter who you were… family, friends, or the stranger behind her at the McDonald’s drive through who got that free meal. Lesa loved and gave that love without hesitation or with the expectation it would be returned. Lesa just loved, it was one of her super powers.
Lesa was many things in her life: stay at home momma, lab tech, supervisor, X-ray tech, phlebotomist, but most recently Lesa was a stay at home chicken tender, homemaker, DIYer, Youtube carpenter and loved every minute of it. Lesa was understanding, caring and loving. Lesa was compassionate, spoiled, and love driven. Lesa enjoyed spending her free time with the ones she loved and especially her grand-babies.
Words From Her Mother:
On August 18, 1969, a bald headed blue eyed baby girl, 6lb. 9oz. was born. This was the start of life with my precious daughter and my best friend. Grandma Ruby Peters and Grandpa Tony Peters called Lesa, their “Babydoll”. She was a very happy baby – as time went on she sang “I’m the happiest girl in the whole USA” with Donna Fargo when she was barely able to talk – Lesa also loved dancing to music, shaking her butt and shoulders. One time Lesa’s Grandpa was sitting in a recliner and she (in diaper) ran across the room as fast as she could, jumped on Tony’s lap and they both went over backwards then it was mommy to the rescue. Lesa thought that was fun and wanted to do that again.
In school Lesa did very well, no problem with getting friends, played sports, and was in the Girl Scouts. One Christmas Program Lesa stood on stage and was Christmas Spirit – her wish was for her daddy to come and watch. He had just gotten out of the hospital from burns (job related); I picked him up and he was there to watch her. Lesa looked in the audience and there he was and Lesa sang her heart out. Lesa had a beautiful voice and a lot of people noticed that.
Years later –Lesa had three beautiful children who are so loved by her. I was proud of the woman Lesa had become. She graduated with a certificate in Phlebotomy at Black River Technical College in Pocahontas, Arkansas. She moved to Oklahoma City and worked in the hospital there and really enjoyed it. Then met the love of her life who treated Lesa like a Queen, always. My wish always that Lesa was respected and she was.

Graveside services will be held Friday, August 18, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Bailey Cemetery, Oregon County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains, Missouri.

Norma Lea Mock, 84, West Plains Missouri, was born the daughter of the late Robert L. Bender and Alvina Marie (Hicks) Bender, on September 21,1938 in Swan, Iowa, and died August 13, 2023 at her home in West Plains, Missouri.
She is survived by two children Robert Keith Mock, and Sherry Angela Brainard: five brothers Jerry Elmo Bender, Mark Allen Bender, Daniel Eugene Bender, David Leo Bender, and Robert Earl Bender; three sisters Ruby Marie Bowers, Lillie Mae Benefiel, and Junella Lynn Bender; fourteen grandchildren, and twenty four great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. Bender and Alvina Marie (Hicks) Bender; two brothers, James Thomas Bender, and Gary Dean Bender; two nephews, Richard Allen Bowers and Gary Eugene Bender, and one niece Laura Deann Benefiel.
She was a member of the Center of God Church, West Plains. She enjoyed working with her flowers, and taking care of her chickens. She enjoyed her dogs and putting her puzzles together.
Graveside services for Norma Lea Mock, will be held Saturday August 19, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Howell Valley Cemetery, Howell County Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

Wilbur Edward Spreutels, 87, of Koshkonong, Missouri, passed away August 13, 2023, asleep in his home, just the way he wanted to. Wilbur was born February 14, 1936, in Seattle, Washington to Wilbur H. and Helene (Wessel) Spreutels.
Wilbur moved to New York when he was 16 and met The New York State Jersey Queen, Elsie Smith and a marriage of 62 years fell into place. He convinced Elsie to leave the Jerseys and take up dairy farming with Holsteins for the next 30 years.
During this time, they had four children, Ken, Steve, Janet and Eugene. They moved to Koshkonong, Missouri in 1983 and established Spreutels Farm. They raised beef cattle, mostly Red Angus for the last 40 years.
Wilbur loved the orchard, the garden, showing quarter horses and driving his big red tractors. But his priority was his beef cattle. He said many times “Farming isn’t just a job, I enjoy it and it’s my hobby too.”
Wilbur was full of life and had a quick wit with an equally quick, ornery grin that provided us with many laughs over the years. He was a Christian and faithfully attended the Kosh Methodist Church. He was always praying for our country and for rain. He loved his family and friends and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife/business partner; three sons Ken, wife Pam and granddaughter Kendra of Hiwasse, Arkansas, Steve, wife Rhonda and grandson Spencer of Koshkonong, Missouri; and Eugene, wife Sandy of Koshkonong, Missouri; one brother Gordon, wife Marie of Bainbridge, New York; one sister Kathy Biglin, husband Denny of Connecticut; honorary granddaughter and farm buddy Mary Lee Simmons and many, many more family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Janet Spreutels; one sister Delores Force.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kosh Methodist Church in Koshkonong, Missouri. Visitation will be Friday, August 18, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Lenita Marie Filip of Brandsville, Missouri passed away peacefully Sunday August 6th surrounded by family at her home.
Lenita worked as a medical transcriptionist for about 15 years & as a heath care worker at a local nursing home. She was never afraid of hard work and instilled this in her children. Lenita was an avid bingo player & loved to crochet for family & friends.
She is survived by her husband AJ Filip, her four children; William Zielinski, Anthony Zielinski & wife Robin, Tiffany Jenkins & husband Jason, Rafael Iribarren & wife Holly, and two grandchildren Griffin Zielinski & wife Anna, and Angel Zielinski.
She was a loving mother and spouse, generous and caring, and loved by all who knew her.
