Wanda Mae Collins Davis was born the daughter of Joe Davis Collins and Ida M. England Collins on November 22, 1936 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and departed this life on October 5, 2011 in Thayer, Missouri at the age of 74 years.

She was united in marriage June 27, 1953 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas to William Fred Davis, who preceded her in death November 1, 2000.

She is survived by three children, Freddie Thompson and husband, Tab of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Rick Davis of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and Sheila Amundson and husband, Tim of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Melanie, Brandon, Samuel, Savannah, Joseph, Mariah and Ashley; six great-grandchildren; one brother, J.D. Collins of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; three sisters-in-law, Margie Collins, Frances Davis and Willa White and husband, Jim; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ida Collins; her husband, Fred Davis; one son, William “Butch” Davis; five brothers, Lanis, Leonard, Lemuel, Lawrence and Clarence Collins; one infant sister and two brothers-in-law, T. R. and Howard Davis.

Wanda was employed at the Tri-County Shirt Company in Salem, Arkansas as an inspector for many years. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and loved being a mom and grandma. Her favorite times, were the big family dinners with all her loved ones present, for good food, old stories and lots of laughter.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Mammoth Spring and will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and good friend. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Graveside services will be Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 12:00 Noon in the Riverside Cemetery at Mammoth Spring, Arkansas with Lee Moses officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday at the cemetery from 11:00 AM until time of the service. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
