Charles, also known as “Charlie,” was raised by his loving grandmother, Nora Belle Bettigrew, after the untimely death of his mother.  Charlie departed this life on January 24, 2024, at the age of 92 years

On October 5,1968, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Powell Coker, and together, they raised four children.
