Patsy “Pat” (Pierce) Beatty was born in Thayer, Missouri; the daughter of James Otho Pierce and Anna Marie (Bauer) Pierce on December 23, 1932 and passed away May 9, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 87 years.
She was united in marriage to Willis Samuel “Sam” Beatty Jr. on December 27, 1949 in Salem, Arkansas.
Pat is survived by her sons, Jim (Karen) Beatty and John Beatty, daughters, Sheri Beatty and Mary Beatty, all of Springfield, Missouri, and Jeanne (Jerry) Ashton of Wichita, Kansas; granddaughters, Jessica (Adam) Gauvin of Austin, Texas, Kathryn (Casey) Hedden of Sheridan, Arkansas, Elizabeth (Greg) Ryner of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Jennie Ashton of Alexandria, Virginia; grandsons, Jerry Ashton and Joshua (Kelly) Ashton of Wichita, Kansas; great granddaughter Emily Hedden and great grandson Henry Hedden, and soon to be great granddaughter “baby” Gauvin; great granddaughters Hailey and Nika Ashton, great grandsons Michael and Adam Ashton; sisters Jackie (Wayne) Watson and Adele Pallman of the Kansas City metro area and brother Joe Pierce of Strasburg, Illinois.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Sam, her parents, sisters Betty DeArman and Virginia “Ginger” Jones and brother John Robert “Bob” Pierce.
Pat resided in Thayer from birth until 1981 and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for those years. Pat moved to Springfield, Missouri in 1981 to be closer to family at which time she became a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Pat worked at Bass Pro Warehouse Fulfillment Center for 12 years retiring in 1997.
Pat’s greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.
Graveside services for Patsy “Pat” Beatty will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, Missouri with Father Maurice officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Disabled American Veterans (dav.org) in Pat’s memory.
Burial will be in Thayerl Cemetery in Thayer, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
