Ruth Helen Meredith was born the daughter of Leonard Brooks and Beulah Eva Marie Phillips Brooks on August 8, 1934, in Salem, Missouri, and departed this life August 21, 2017, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 83 years.
She was united in marriage at Pekin, Illinois, to James Norman Carrington.
She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Carrington of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Eva Morgan of Florence, Oregon, and Shirley Shipp of Thayer, Missouri; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Eva Marie Brooks; her son, James L. Carrington and several brothers and sisters.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, and reading.
She attended Chapel Hill Baptist Church as long as health permitted.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and will truly be missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services for Ruth Meredith will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Erman Croney officiating.
The family will receive friends at the chapel on Friday, August 25th from 1:00 PM until service time.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc in Thayer.
