Ronald Elmore “Ron” Taylor was born the son of Robert E. Taylor and Bird Chandler Taylor on January 15, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri, and departed this life April 27, 2018, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 84 years.

He was united in marriage on March 18, 1956, at Hernando, Mississippi, to Clara Marie Wooldridge, who preceded him in death on March 20, 2015.

He is survived by three sons, Ron Taylor of Jefferson City, Missouri, Kenneth Taylor and wife, Donna of West Plains, Missouri, and Rogers Taylor of West Plains, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Anne Taylor of West Plains, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Bird Taylor; one son, James Craig Taylor; five brothers and sisters, Rogers Taylor, S.E. Taylor, Marie Geibe, Mildred Rayfield, and June Taylor.

Ron was a small engine mechanic, owning and operating Taylor’s Small Engine, “The Saw Shop” for twenty-three years.

He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, training bird dogs, and camping trips. He also enjoyed photography, and took beautiful pictures of nature, and most of all, photos of his family and friends.

He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Pastor Gary Collins officiating.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 1st from 1:00 PM until service time at the Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be in Thayer Cemetery, with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
