Robert Luther French was born the son of John T. French and Winnie (Judd) French on September 7, 1928, in Rover, Missouri, and departed this life on August 20, 2016, in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 87 years.

He was united in marriage on January 31, 1953, in Rover, Missouri, to Dolores Huffman.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores French of the home, near Koshkonong, Missouri; one granddaughter, Tami Henrich and husband, Paul of Independence, Missouri; three great granddaughters, Brooke Maggio, Rachel Rellihan and Sara Rellihan; several nieces and one nephew; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Winnie French; his two sons, Don French and Eddy French; two sisters, Grace Robinson and Opal King; and three infant brothers.

Mr. French was of the Baptist faith and attended Shiloh Grand Gulf Church.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during the Korean War.

In 1990, he retired as a foreman for the KPL Gas Service Company in Kansas City, Missouri, after thirty years of service.
After his retirement, he enjoyed deer hunting, horseback riding and trail rides.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will truly be missed by his family and friends

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Brother Dennis Williams officiating.

Burial was in Redburn Cemetery, near Rover, Missouri, with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
