Robert Gene (Bobby) Peebles was born in St. Louis, MO on Oct. 28, 1943, son of Robert R. Peebles and Merle (Burrow) Peebles. He departed this life on Dec. 15, 2021 at Shady Oaks Healthcare in Thayer, MO at the age of 78.

 He was preceded in death by his beloved parents.

Bobby is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy Peebles and Sherry of Thayer, MO; numerous cousins; two stepsisters; other relatives; and many friends. He was a devoted son, brother and friend.

He was a Christian and attended State Line Pentecostal Church as long as he was able.

Bobby spent his life in the home helping his parents. His accomplishments included assisting his mother and father in the operation of the Colonial Hotel in Thayer for more than two decades.

He enjoyed all types of music, but particularly classic country music, hymns, early rock and roll, and popular tunes of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Besides his love of family, he loved animals. He cared for numerous dogs and cats throughout his life.

Bobby will be remembered for his kindness and happy spirit. He made the most of the blessings he was given in this life and didn’t despair of those he was not. He was a joy to those who knew him.

Funeral services for Robert G. “Bobby” Peebles will be held on Monday, December 20. 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri with Brother Wayne Hurst officiating.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 20, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to service time at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer, Missouri.

Burial will be on Monday, December 20. 2021 in Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.

    Bobby was a nice guy. He was my second cousin. He always had a kind word to say.
