Robert Lee “Bob” Daily was born the son of William B. Daily and Goldie (Maddox) Daily on May 21, 1925, in Thayer, Missouri, and departed this life October 31, 2015, in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 90 years.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Mae (Carey) Daily of Thayer, Missouri; three sons, Robert Lewis “Louie” Daily and wife, Catherine of Killen, Alabama, Ralph Douglas Shelton, III and wife, Mary Lou of Jackson, Missouri, and Larry Lynn Shelton of Memphis, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Robert, Steven, Ryan, and Todd; three great-grandchildren, Cole, Charles, and Avery; one brother, Buck Daily of West Plains, Missouri; one sister, Rosemary Holcomb of Springfield, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Goldie Daily.

Mr. Daily was a veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Army during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam Conflict.

Bob was well known as a talented craftsman and for his woodworking skills. He enjoyed making many children’s toys and beautiful home décor items, which can be found in many area homes today.

Bob enjoyed having a good time with his friends. He loved to dance, especially the two-step and square dancing with Fran.

He was kind, caring, and a man of faith and prayer. He will truly be missed by his family and many friends.

Graveside Services for Mr. Daily will be Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at 2:00 PM at the Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, Missouri.

Burial will be in the Thayer Cemetery, with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the charity of choice.
