Robert Dean Thompson was born the son of William F. Thompson and Alice Deane Melton Thompson on September 26, 1958, in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and departed this life December 5, 2017, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 59 years.
He was united in marriage on December 27, 1998 at Thayer, Missouri to Deborah Garner, who preceded him in death in May of 2015.
He is survived by his mother, Deane Thompson of Thayer, Missouri; four children, Mariah Bonner of St.Charles, Missouri, Rocky Sifford of Springfield, Missouri, Kelly Sifford and friend, Tylan of Fort Meyers, Florida, and John Sifford and wife, Mariana of Miami, Florida; a special buddy, Donna Knight of St. Charles, Missouri; three grandchildren, Emma, Malakai, and Maya; two brothers, Billy Thompson of Thailand and Richard Thompson and wife, Teri of Shreveport, Louisana; one sister, Sheila Thompson of Thayer, Missouri; two uncles, John Thompson and wife, Ruth of Kansas City, Missouri and David Melton and wife, Addie of Thayer, Missouri; many other relatives, friends and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Thompson; his father, William Thompson; and his grandparents.
Bobby was a graduate of Thayer High School, graduating with the class of 1976.
He was employed as an Inspector in the Produce Department of Sav-A-Lot Grocery.
Bobby enjoyed fishing, bowling, taking walks over the farm, and was an avid sports fan of baseball and football.
Family was very special to Bobby and always came first in his life. His last wishes were, “Take me home and I’ll find Daddy and we’ll go fishing, and please tell Mariah how proud I am of her.”
He will truly be missed by his family and many friends.
Funeral Services for Bobby Thompson will be Sunday, December 10, 2017, at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 10th from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be in the Thayer Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
