Robbie Parnell

Robbie Nell (Stark) Parnell was born the daughter of William Thomas “W. T.” Stark and Ezia (Hager) Stark on March 10, 1928, in North Fork, Arkansas, and departed this life on May 13, 2014, in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 86 years.

She was united in marriage on September 21, 1952 at Thayer, Missouri, to the love of her life, Harlin Fred Parnell, who preceded her in death on July 30, 2005. She and Harlin became parents to two sons, Michael Parnell and Thomas Mark Parnell.

She is survived by her two sons, Mike Parnell and wife, Julie of St. Johns, Florida, and Thomas Mark Parnell of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; Carla Parnell of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Angelina Wood and husband, Brent of Gastonia, North Carolina, Jenicka Lang and husband, Ronnie of Jacksonville, Florida, HaiFeng Parnell and Zoe Parnell, both of Jacksonville, Florida, Joshua Parnell and wife, Laura of Monette, Arkansas, Seth Parnell and Sarah Parnell, both of Paragould, Arkansas; four great grandchildren, Anastasia McArthur, Lance McArthur and Alex Wood, all of Gastonia, North Carolina, and Titus Parnell of Monette, Arkansas; one sister, Betty Cooke of Houston, Texas; one sister-in-law, Sharon Stark of Lenor City, Tennessee; and one brother-in-law, Paul Parnell of Diamond, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlin Parnell; her parents, W.T. and Ezia Stark; one brother, J.D. Stark; two sisters, Dessie Stark and Fern Stark; nine brothers-in-law, Jim Cooke, Wesley Parnell, Rudolph Parnell, Raymond Parnell, Leonard Parnell, Hobart Parnell, Roscoe Honeycutt, Milo Denton and Carl Smith; six sisters-in-law, Jo Parnell, Mary Lee Parnell, Callie Parnell, Dorothy Collins, Rosie Denton and Augusta Honeycutt.

Robbie was a proud homemaker and a wonderful cook. She cherished time spent visiting with and caring for her family, especially her grandchildren. They always looked forward to one of grandma’s home cooked meals and her special apple pie.

Robbie loved her church and was a faithful member of the Thayer Church of Christ. She will truly be missed by her many friends, her church family, and her own family who loved her dearly.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Parnell will be Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 2:00 PM at the Thayer Church of Christ in Thayer, Missouri.

The family will receive friends at the Carter Funeral Home in Thayer on Friday, May 16th, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
