Opal Irene Andrews was born in New Liberty, Missouri, the daughter of James Silas Allmon and Hester Bradshaw Allmon on December 16, 1927, and passed away on June 26, 2021 at her home in Republic, Missouri at the age of 93.

She was united in marriage to Rodney Andrews on December 30, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri, who preceded her in death on August 5, 2002.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents, James and Hester Allmon; her husband, Rodney Andrews; one daughter, Linda K. Andrews; one granddaughter, Leatrice Alley; five sisters; four brothers; and one great grandchild.

She is survived by three grandchildren, Tina Massengill of Republic, Missouri, Kenneth Alley and his wife Jaime of Aurora, Missouri, and Terry White of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; one brother, Harold Allmon and his wife Jo; three great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one great great great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews,  and cousins; other relatives; and many friends.

After graduating from high school, Opal attended beautician school and received a cosmetology degree.  At one time, she owned and operated three beauty shops in St. Louis.  Opal later owned and operated a beauty shop on Chestnut Street in downtown Thayer, Missouri.

 Opal was a Christian.

She loved to travel.  Opal traveled with her husband and other family members.  Opal especially liked Colorado and the mountains and the ocean and the beach.

Opal liked game shows.  However, what was most important to her was her family.

She will be truly missed by her family and friends.  

Gaveside services for Opal Irene Andrews will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Shiloh Cemetery near Alton, Missouri.

Burial will be on Thursday, July 8, 2021 in Shiloh Cemetery near Alton, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
