Norma Jo Case was born the daughter of Ernest James and Barbara Orr James on October 8, 1935 in Alton, Missouri and departed this life February 24, 2012 in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 76 years.

She is survived by her husband, Winfred of the home in West Plains, Missouri; one son, Danny Case and wife, Kathleen of Harrison, Arkansas; one daughter, Pamela Johnson and husband, Kelly of Alton, Missouri; six grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Joseph and wife, Brandy, Janna and Judah Case of Harrison, Arkansas and Kaley Jo Johnson of Alton, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Silas, Kaden and Kamri Shea; several cousins; other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Barbara James.

Norma was a former telephone operator, working for Bell Telephone Company in St. Louis for many years and was later employed as bank teller for the Bank of Thayer.

She was saved as a teenager and became a faithful member of Smyrna Free Will Baptist Church near Alton. After moving to the Myrtle area, she joined Cotton Creek Free Will Baptist Church where she served as church pianist. As all could see, she was a willing worker in her church and community and continued to live a dedicated life until her death.

She was a true homemaker and will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving and caring mother, grandmother, neighbor and a friend to all.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 27, 2012 – 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Chapel in Thayer.  The family will recieve friends from 1:00 until sevice time.  Burial will be in Huddleston Cemetery near Alton.
