Funeral services for Michael James Barks, 65, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.
He was born the son of the late Orval Barks and Helen Hicks Barks, on March 2, 1957 in Phoenix, Arizona and died January 2, 2023 in Kansas City, Missouri.
He is survived by three children, Lenora Barks, Springfield, Missouri; Chantell Lambert and husband Corey, West Plains, Missouri, and Jason Collins, significant other, Tiffany, Strafford, Missouri; two brothers, Hubert Ray Barks and wife Cindy, West Plains, Missouri and Timothy Lynn Barks and wife Karen, West Plains, Missouri; four grandchildren, Latisha Coronado and significant other Cole, Springfield, Missouri; Iran Coronado, Springfield, Missouri; Kylar Lambert, West Plains, Missouri; Tristyn Lambert, West Plains, Missouri, and one baby on the way, Strafford, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Alaia Marcinek, Springfield, Missouri and Gi’Anna Coronado, Springfield, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents Orval Barks and Helen Peaker, and one brother, Verlin Gene Barks.
Michael loved to ride Harley Davidson motorcycles and also enjoyed to build cars-hot rods. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Burial will be in New Liberty Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
