Mary Lou Sorrell, 89 of Myrtle, Missouri came into this world on January 24, 1934, in Thayer, Missouri, the daughter of Truman and Ora Boyd and went to her heavenly home on December 1, 2023, in West Plains, Missouri.

  She was married to Robert (Bob) Sorrell for seventy-one years. They were married on June 4, 1952, in Pocahontas, Arkansas.

She is survived by her husband Robert (Bob) Sorrell: one son Bobby and wife Tammy Sorrell of Gatewood, Missouri, one daughter Stacee and husband Dave Peters of West Plains, Missouri, one brother George and wife Mary Lou of Doniphan, Missouri; eighteen grandchildren, and forty-one great grandchildren. and one great great grandchild due in March.

  She is preceded in death by her parents and two children Cathy Sorrell and Boyd Sorrell; two great grandchildren, and two sisters.

  She was a member of the Myrtle Freewill Baptist Church. She also liked to go shopping, watching basketball game, reading about history, cooking, and frying chicken for her family and friends.  Also, she enjoyed a good Tootsie roll pop and a pack of cheese crackers.  She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

  Mary was loved by all who knew her and will be  sadly missed.

    Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer,  Missouri.

  Interment will be on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, in the Myrtle Cemetery, Myrtle, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.

    We will miss you Aunt Mary. So sorry we will not be able to make it because of doctor’s appointments. Prayers for all of the family and Uncle Bob. See you in heaven.

    My Aunt Mary was a good Aunt!❤️
    And I will miss her dearly!!!
    Loved to hear her talk , laugh , tell stories , well, I Just loved that lady!!!
    Will see her again one day!!!

    Mary was a good friend and one of my favorite basketball fans when I coached at Couch High school. Sorry for your loss Bob.
