Marcella Ann Funk was born the daughter of Preston Green and Josephine (Pierce) Green on February 7, 1931 in Jonesboro, Arkansas and died June 13, 2012 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 81 years.
She was married October 21, 1948 at Jonesboro, Arkansas to Sidney Funk.
She is survived by her husband, Sidney Funk of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; three children, Peggy Lewis of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Richard Funk and wife, Sally of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Jerry Funk and wife, Jeanie of Wagoner, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Ronnie, Donald, Shauna, Amanda, Jeffrey, Jessica, Malinda, Richard and Tammy; sixteen great-grandchildren, Sydney, Eric, Charlie, Kylea, Immagen, Jaicee, twins, Sam and Sophi, Pepper, Constance, Kayle, Ashlynn, Kristen, Erik, Megan and Madison; several other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Josephine Green.
Marcella was a dedicated homemaker and an excellent cook, especially known for her delicious homemade hot rolls and cinnamon rolls. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens and growing her favorite “Iris” flower. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, knitting and embroidery needlework and was an avid stuffed animal collector.
Mrs. Funk was a member of the VFW Post 7831 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Funk will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri.
