Lucille Imogene (Ledbetter) Crotts was born the daughter of Clyde Dean and Sylvia (Strosnider) Ledbetter on February 1, 1925 in Des Moines, Iowa and departed this life June 19, 2012 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 87 years.

She was united in marriage on October 6, 1946 to Scott Crotts, Jr. in Alton, Missouri. After 65 years of marriage, Scott Jr. passed away less than two days before Lucille on June 17, 2012.

She is survived by one son, John Alan Crotts of Thayer, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Billye Helen Crotts Nelson of Auburn, California; one brother-in-law, John Herbert Crotts, Sr. and his wife Sarah of Normal, Illinois; several cousins, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Scott Crotts; her parents, Clyde Dean and Sylvia Ledbetter; one Aunt, Clara Hollis; one Uncle, Cecil Ledbetter and three sisters-in-law, Clydith Crotts Harbour, Louise Crotts Lundin and Christine Crotts Talley.

Lucille graduated from Thayer High School as the valedictorian of her class. She first began working as a teller at the Bank of Thayer. Later, she became a proud homemaker. She loved gardening and especially growing flowers and tomatoes. She was also a great cook and had a large collection of recipes.

Mrs. Crotts was a member of First Baptist Church of Thayer.

She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother and had many friends. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.

Graveside services for Mr. and Mrs. Crotts will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 21, 2012 in the Thayer Cemetery at Thayer, Missouri with Brother Gerald Bounds officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Crotts will lie in repose at the Funeral Home Tuesday, June 19 and Wednesday, June 20 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM. Services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Flora Cemetery at Viola, Arkansas or to the Clifton Cemetery near Thayer, Missouri. Memorial donations can be left at the Funeral Home.
