Lossie Evans Moore

Lossie Evans Moore was born the daughter of Arthur Ehrhardt and Vernie (James) Ehrhardt on April 6, 1926, in Randolph County, Arkansas, and departed this life October 29, 2015, in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 89 years.

She was united in marriage on January 14, 1944, at Pocahontas, Arkansas, to Hosea Evans, who preceded her in death on August 20, 1994. She was united in marriage in May of 1997 at Myrtle, Missouri, to John Moore, who also preceded her in death.

She is survived by four children, Sharon Wisehart and husband, Wayne of Ashville, North Carolina, Diane Todd and husband, Richard of Alton, Missouri, Steve Evans and wife, Sarah of Gillette, Wyoming, and Carrie Honeycutt and husband, Bill of Thayer, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Marc Wisehart and wife, Tashia, Kristen Crandall and husband, Jamie, Angel Allen and husband, Larry, Lisa Sparling and husband, Jeremy, Matthew Todd and wife, Cassie, Daniele Evans, Cody Evans, Aaron Honeycutt, Ashley Honeycutt, and Cayson Honeycutt; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Lehman Ehrhardt of Myrtle, Missouri; one sister, Pat Fisher of West Plains, Missouri; many nieces and nephews, several step-children; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Vernie Ehrhardt; her husbands, Hosea Evans and John Moore; one son, Danny Evans; one brother, Millard Ehrhardt; and four sisters, Audrey Ehrhardt, Dorothy Smith, Dorice Deckard, and Geneva Ehrhardt.

Besides being a dedicated homemaker, Lossie owned and operated the Myrtle Café and worked as cook for the Couch School for many years. She will be remembered by her family and the Myrtle community for preparing delicious food. Lossie was also employed at Puritan Fashions in Thayer for several years.

She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and the many friends she made during her working career. She will truly be missed by all.

She was of the Free Will Baptist faith.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 2, 2015, at 10:00 AM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, with Brother Richard Todd officiating.

Burial will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery near Myrtle, Missouri, with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

    Carrie and family, sorry for the loss of your Mother, I waited on her while working in the Pharmacy and she was always a joy to visit with, she was a very kind and sweet lady and will be missed in the community.
