Linda P. Young was born the daughter of James Reed and Sally (Gray) Reed on October 4, 1944 in Blytheville, Arkansas and departed this life April 16, 2012 in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 67 years.
She was united in marriage June 12, 1973 in Oregon County, Missouri to John “Jack” Young.
She is survived by four children, George Titus Buehler and wife, Jenny of West Plains, Missouri, Mike Buehler and wife, Debbie of West Plains, Missouri, Jody Lee Young and wife, Belinda of Thayer, Missouri and Jacquelyn Lea Young of West Plains, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Junior and Dereck LeVey, Casey, Logan, and Morgan Buehler, Garrett, Jesse, Olivia, Spencer and Savanna Young ; one great grandson, Noah LeVey; one sister-in-law, Eileen Reed of Thayer, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Sally Reed; her husband, Jack Young; one brother, Thomas Jefferson “T.J. Reed” and one nephew Scott Thomas Reed.
Linda enjoyed shopping with the girls, looking for a flea market bargain or the thrill of a great find at yard sales. She liked the outdoors and most of all, time spent on a good fishing trip.
Mama Young enjoyed cooking holiday meals, especially made with love for her family, but the joy of her life was her grandkids, who fondly referred to her as their “Nana” or “MaMaw”.
She will be remembered by the way she touched the lives of others with her love, a kind heart and generous spirit.
Linda was of the Baptist faith, a loving and caring Mother, Grandma, aunt and loyal friend. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:oo to 8:00 PM. Burial will be in the Thayer Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
