Leota Eades, 82, the daughter of the late Burton L. Surface and Gladys Dennison Surface, on March 30, 1928 in Spooner, Wisconsin and died February 13, 2011 in West Plains, Missouri.

She was united in marriage July 25, 1947 in West Plains, Missouri to Floyd Eades, who preceded her on death August 6, 1983.

She is survived by two children, Rita Kay Mueller (Ed), St. Louis, Missouri, and Bob Eades (Regina), West Plains, Missouri; two brothers, Lawrence Surface (Joyce), West Plains, Missouri, and Gayle Surface (Edith), Pomona, Missouri; four grandchildren, Michele (Brian) Noser, St. Louis, Missouri, Shawn Mueller, St. Louis, Missouri, Trenton Eades, West Plains, Missouri, and Madison Eades, West Plains, Missouri, and one great grandson, Braden Noser, St. Louis, Missouri.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Eades; her parents, Burton L. Surface and Gladys Dennison Surface; two brothers, Jerry Surface and Burton (Buck) Surface.

She lived a simple life, devoted to and loved family, enjoyed her grandchildren and her great grandchild, and always catered to much of their wants and needs.

She was a devoted, strong Chirstian woman, lived everyday accordingly. She attended China Union Church for over sixty-four years, and was instrumental in keeping the doors open when attendance had dropped to four ladies.

She loved farm life, raising cattle, maintaining farm upkeep, and gardening every year.

She was able to visit Mount Rushmore Monuments, which her grandfather was a foreman of a blasting crew.

She was an active member of Evergreen Lend A Hand Club, who made quilts to sell to raise funds for the upkeep of the cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm.

Funeral services will be held at the China Union Church on Thursday at 2:00pm with the burial at Evergreen cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.
