JoDon Schwegman (81) went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, April 28, 2021 in Springfield, MO.

JoDon, the son of Paul and Marie Callaway Schwegman was born on January 21, 1940 in Springfield, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Judith Ann Schwegman; parents Paul and Marie Schwegman and brother Robert John (Bob) Schwegman.

JoDon graduated high school in West Plains, MO in 1958 where he made many memories with family and friends. He attended Missouri University and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He began his career with Emerson Electric and finally retired from his self-owned business Schwegman Constructors and Engineers, Inc. in 2000. He lived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for 34 years where he was devoted to his family and his business until returning to Pottersville, MO where he lived for 6 years. He currently resided in Rolla, MO with Lisa, his wife of 7 years.

He had an abiding faith in God and was devoted to his family and church. Among his many activities he loved camping with Friends on Wheels, Jeep Jamborees, taking pictures of nature and family, reading action novels, movie watching and traveling the United States but, most of all, spending time with his five grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren.

JoDon will be lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Teri Peters (John) of Vancleave, MS and Jill Shurden (Jake) of Olive Branch, MS; grandchildren, Madison Peters, Morgan Peters, Connor Shurden, Hailey Shurden, Maxwell Shurden; siblings, Nancy Wikstrom (Donald) and Janet Woodyard (Paul), in-laws; Howard Schulze (Sheri) and Beverly Schulze; second family; wife, Lisa Schwegman; children, Brooke Durbin (Jason) and Ryan Sims (Shanna); grandchildren; Royce Durbin, Ava Sims, Corbin Sims, Nolan Sims and Abel Sims. JoDon will also be remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 10, 2021, from 6 pm until 8 pm at Carter Funeral Home, West Plains, MO. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., at Howell Memorial Park with arrangements by Carter Funeral Home of West Plains, MO.
