Jeanetta L. Thompson was born on May 8, 1945 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, the daughter of Verlin and Juanita (Carroll) Green and died September 17, 2021 at the age of 76 years.

She was united in marriage to Leo D. Thompson on June 9, 1973 in Sterling, Illinois, who preceded her in death September 9, 2019.

Jeanetta was a devoted wife and mother. She excelled in her profession as a district sales manager for Avon products. She earned trips to Hawaii, Bermuda, and Austria as well as nine cruises and other awards. She retired after twenty-five years.

Jeanetta is a member of the First Baptist Church in Nashville, Illinois. She attended the First Baptist Church in Auburndale, Florida, and the First Baptist Church in West Plains, Missouri.

Jeanette loved spending time with her son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jeanetta loved roses. At one time she owned 450 roses of many varieties. She was a Master Gardener in Washington County for over ten years. She was a member of the Perky Red Hats in Nashville, Illinois, and a member of the Red Hot Mama’s in Auburndale, Florida. Jeanetta was a member of the Home Extension group in Nashville, Illinois. She served a term as president.

Jeanetta and Leo enjoyed traveling, taking three trips to Europe and twelve cruises. They both traveled each of the fifty states and Puerto Rico.

Left to mourn the passing, are her son, Jerry Thompson and wife, Julie, Wright City, Missouri; grandchildren, Molly Thompson and fiancé, Jeffrey, St. Peters, Missouri; grandson, Willow Thompson, St. Peters, Missouri, and granddaughter, Maia Hafley; her step-grandchildren, Elyse Durnil and Lucas Durnil, and great grandson, Mason Taylor, and a variety of friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, and a brother, Leslie Green.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, Missouri.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Burial will be held in Mt. Zion Cemetery near South Fork Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

A celebration of life pot luck meal will be held at the family home, 12879 County Road 6815, Moody, Missouri, following the interment.
