James Edward “Jay” Threlkeld was born the son of Henry and Clara (Hampton) Threlkeld on April 29, 1942 in Koshkonong, Missouri and died April 18, 2012 at his home in Koshkonong.

He was united in marriage March 10, 2009 in Rector, Arkansas to Joyce Louise Dooley.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Threlkeld of Koshkonong, Missouri; two sons, Dewayne Hall and wife, Ann of Benton, Arkansas and Kevin James Threlkeld and wife, Carla of Los Animos, Colorado; three daughters, Kimberly Jean Solares and husband, Jorge of Rome, Italy, Kelly Joe Marino of Decatur, Alabama and Karla Jay Threlkeld and husband, Joe of Farmington, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, Whitney Hall of Benton, Arkansas, Kyle and Cole Marino of Decatur, Alabama, Allie, Macy, Addison and Jacob Threlkeld of Los Animos, Colorado, Stephane¢ , Andre and Lydia Solares of Rome, Italy and Sophe and Jalyn Crider of Farmington, Missouri; two brothers, William Threlkeld and wife, Barbara of Koshkonong, Missouri and Harry Threlkeld and wife, Helga of Whitney, Texas; several nieces and nephews, a host of other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Clara Threlkeld; one son, Roy Avery Hall; two sisters, Shirley Roberts and Ella Threlkeld and one brother, Robert Threlkeld.

Mr Threlkeld was a veteran, serving his country in the United States Army in Vietnam. He earned a Sharpshooter badge with a rifle and an Expert badge with his M-14, He also received a Good Conduct Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Koshkonong and, was blessed by the friendship he shared with a generous pastor.

He loved playing cards. Pitch and Pinochle were two of his favorite games. He also enjoyed playing Keno and tending to his plants. He was a buyer and trader of all items.

Jay was a very kind-hearted and generous person. He never met a stranger. He took every opportunity to help someone in need, even at a great cost to himself. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, generous neighbor and a loyal friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorial services for James will be Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the graveside in Koshkonong Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday day evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
