James Harvel

James Monroe Harvel was born the son of Samuel Monroe and Juanita Nutter Harvel on April 15, 1934 in Smothers, West Virginia and departed this life on April 13, 2012 at his home in Mammoth Spring, Arkanasas at the age of 77 years.

James was united in marriage on April 16, 1982 to Mary “Maxine” Hedgpeth.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine of the home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; two sons, Grover Harvel and wife, Big Lisa of Columbus, Ohio and Michael and wife, Lisa of Newark, Ohio; one daughter, Melissa “Missy” Musgrove and husband, Norman of Columbus, Ohio; two step-sons, Richard L. Hinckley and wife, Pam of Phoenix, Arizona and Walter D. Hinckley and wife, Edie of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Sammy Harvel and wife Louise of Columbus, Georgia; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Juanita Harvel.

James was a man of faith and a licensed minister of the Gospel.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will truly be missed by his family and many friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Harvel will be Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Burial will be in the Thayer Cemetery.
