Howard Elliott

Howard Ransom Elliott was born the son of Howard Elliott, Sr. and Minnie Elliott on January 10, 1949, in Waukegan, Illinois.  After a brief illness, he died on July 25, 2017, at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas, at the age of 68 years.

He was united in marriage on June 14, 1981, in Riverwood, Illinois to Carol Lucas.

He is survived by his wife, Carol and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Howard earned his BS Degree at Southern Illinois University in Normal, Illinois and a Masters Degree in Journalism from North Western University in Chicago, Illinois.

He was an Editor for the Elgin Daily Courier News in Elgin, Illinois, where he met his wife, Carol.

After their move to the Ozarks, Howard became an ole time costume photographer on the major fair circuit.

He and Carol were partners and publishers of Hill ‘n Holler Review.  This publication was delivered to numerous businesses throughout the area.

Howard was musically inclined.  He played saxophone and clarinet and sang for the Repertory Theater of the Ozarks, performing in the production of “Cats” and several other shows.

He will truly be missed.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Jeff Cemetery near Thayer, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
