80 YEAR OLD Hazel Fern Romans Ledbetter died at 3:45 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2011 at the Brooke Haven Nursing Home in West Plains.

Hazel was born in Oregon County, Missouri June 11, 1930, the daughter of William Clinton and Lola Alice House Romans.

On April 4, 1947 she married Floyd U. Ledbetter. To this union were born eight children.

Hazel is survived by her husband, Floyd, of the family home; children, LaVerna Williams and husband, Howard, Caulfield, Missouri, F. Dean Ledbetter, West Plains, J.C. Ledbetter and wife, Shelley, Donald Ledbetter and wife, Sue, all of Gainesville, Missouri, Joe Ledbetter and wife, Ronda, West Plains, Alice Pery and husband, Jackie, Steele, Misouri, Steve Ledbetter and wife, Stacey, West Plains, Missouri; one brother, Billy Joe Romans, West Plains; 18 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins.

Hazel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She loved visitors to come and ejoyed cooking a big meal every chance she got. She loved to raise a garden and take care of her chickens.

Hazel’s parents; one daughter, Millie Ledbetter; brothers, Harold, Arthur, Ralph, Hubert and Johnny, infant brother Freddy and infant sister, June Romans, grandchildren, James Dale Anderson, Jason Ledbetter, and Kasey Kelsey procede her in death.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, and can be left at the funeral home.
