Funeral services for Harvey Jett, 76, years, 7 months, and 17 days, Pomona, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 6, 2013, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with Brother Richard Wells officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

He was born the son of the late Joseph “Joe” Samuel Jett, Jr.  and Ruby Agnes Thompson Jett, on February 14, 1937 in Fitztown, Oklahoma and died October 2, 2013 in Pomona, Missouri.

He was united in marriage April 3, 1960 in West Plains, Missouri to Bettie Sue Freeman.

He is survived by his wife, Bettie Sue Freeman Jett, of the home, Pomona, Missouri; three children, Mark Jett and wife, Melissa, West Plains, Missouri, Will Jett and wife, Ann, West Plains, Missouri, and Gena Jett Brook and husband, Jason, Willow Springs, Missouri; four brothers, Kenneth Jett and wife, Fern, Syracuse, Kansas, Phillip Jett and wife, Juanita, Alton, Missouri, David Jett and wife, Gertrude, Alton, Missouri, Lester Jett and wife, Mozella, Rover, Missouri; two sisters, Nancy Venberg, Wichita, Kansas, and Maxine Grinstead, Lebanon, Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Olene Jett, Quail, Texas and Shirley Jett, Rover, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Dr. Levi Jett and wife, Leslie, Springfield, Missouri, Lauryn Jett, West Plains, Missouri, Desley RaeAnn Jett, West Plains, Missouri, Matthew Lane Jett, West Plains, Missouri, Taylor Brook, Linsey Brook, Reagan Brook, and Ty Brook, all of Willow Springs, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ruby Jett; his father and mother-in-law, Verl and Floy Freeman; two brothers, Claude Jett and Sam Jett; one sister, Lana Jett Bennett; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Venberg, and a nephew, Kirk Venburg.

He was a Christian and attended the First Church of God in Willow Springs, Missouri. Harvey was a retired Operating Engineer having traveled much of the United States constructing natural gas and water Lines. He enjoyed his work and was a devoted family man. He enjoyed raising, and training registered quarter horses, hunting, fishing, a little rodeo, and watching his grandchildren participate in sports events and all their other activities. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

Burial will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

    So very sorry to hear of Harvey’s passing. Sorry we cannot attend the funeral…I just had total knee replacement surgery few days ago (Earlene). Your entire family will certainly be in our thoughts and prayers. Don and Earlene
