Harry Threlkeld was born in Koshkonong, Missouri, the son of Henry Threlkeld and Clara Hampton Threlkeld on October 29, 1948, and departed this life on December 9, 2018 in Houston, Texas, at the age of 70 years.

He was united in marriage to Helga Zubke on December 26, 1972. She preceded him in death on February 16, 2018 after forty-six years of marriage.

He is survived by his daughter, Candis Threlkeld of Muncy, Pennsylvania; one brother, William Threlkeld of Koshkonong, Missouri; one grandson, William Bradshaw; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helga Threlkeld; his parents, Henry and Clara Threlkeld; his sister, Shirley Roberts; two brothers, James and Robert Threlkeld; and one infant sister.

Harry served his country in the U.S. Air Force from May 6, 1969 through April 29, 1975 and lived in twenty-four different locations with Helga. In 1976, he joined the Army Corps of Engineers and that work took him to Whitney, Texas in 1984. After his retirement from the Corps of Engineers, he opened his own business known as H Electric.

He was very involved in the Whitney community, volunteering wherever he was needed. He was especially active with the WIDS, where he worked as a volunteer with the band boosters in the concession stand for many years.

Harry was deeply devoted to his family. He will truly be missed by his family and all that knew him.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at 3:00 PM at Koshkonong Cemetery in Koshkonong, Missouri.

Arrangements are under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
