I spent my high school years in Thayer where I attended First Baptist Church. I have such happy memories of church! Georgeanne Cates’ music was a central part of our services. I love the memory of sitting next to her on the piano or organ bench turning pages. Georgeanne once mentored me each step of the way through a piano performance. She was kind to the young people of church.

I have been blessed to see her some over the years as her son married my sister. I was always so happy to visit with her! Georgeanne was a lovely and loving person, and I am grateful for her time here.

    With loving memories, Julia

I can see Georgeanne at the organ as clearly now as most every Sunday of my childhood. She generously shared her time and talent and raised a wonderful family. She was a Proverbs 31 woman, like so many of those ladies at First Baptist. I am sorry for your loss, but grateful for wonderful memories.

To the family of Georgeanne I send my deepest sympathy. When my family lived in Thayer I kept Jim, Joe and Donna since I was a stay at home mom for 4 children. I will always remember them and what a sweet family they were. May God surround you with His Love.
