My memory of Gene goes back to our schools days at Couch School and hauling hay together during the summer. As far as I ever knew he was a kind and gentle man that I considered a friend, though we were not able to see each other much as we grew older.
Somehow his passing seems to leave a empty space in my heart for those days long ago that we spent together in school.
My thoughts and prayers to his family. I know he will be missed by all.

We’re so saddened for the loss of such a good neighbor. We will miss getting to look forward to his arrival home from the riverboat every few weeks. A kind and caring man who will be greatly missed by many.
