Ernest "Red" Niermann

Ernest O. Niermann, Jr. was born the son of Ernest O. Niermann, Sr. and Dorothy J. (Zerface) Niermann on June 2, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri  and departed this life September 22, 2012 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 74 years.

He was united in marriage December 23, 1961 at Normandy, Missouri to Kathleen Stacy.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Niermann of the home in Thayer, Missouri; six children, Lori Hay and husband, Jeff of College Station, Texas, Cliff L. Niermann of Thayer, Missouri, Crisann Blair of Thayer, Missouri, Jill Lawson and husband, David of West Plains, Missouri, Terrah Harper and husband, Jeremy of Republic, Missouri, and Paul Niermann of Thayer, Missouri; nephew, Jeãñ Niermann of Raleigh, North Carolina; twelve grandchildren, Sierra, Christian, Jared, Calynn, Connor, Camden, Dylan, Olivia, Landon, Everr, Warren and Payton; one great grandchild, Jaxson; his father-in-law, Clifford Stacy of Thayer, Missouri; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Dorothy Niermann; daughter, Sherry Lynn O’Rourke; infant daughter, Lawana Kay; infant granddaughter, Jade Lanay O’Rourke; one brother, James Niermann; and his mother-in-law, Pauline Stacy.

Mr. Niermann was a Veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Army with the First Army Division.

He was employed by Bell Telephone Company, retiring after 32 years of service as a cable splicer.

Red cherished the time he spent with his family, enjoyed the company of dear friends, was always ready with a helping hand, and was a true friend to all.

He was a Christian man, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral Services for Mr. Niermann will be Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri.

The family will recieve friends at the Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.

Burial and military honors will be Wednesday, September 26, 2012 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
