Dorothy R. McGhee was born January 9, 1935 in Bardley, Missouri, the daughter of Palmer Roy Dale and Lois Carrie O’Dell Dale, and departed this life on April 1, 2021 at the age of 86.

She was united in marriage on March 8, 1958 in Rockford, Illinois to Norman G. Williams who preceded her in death.  She was united in marriage on July 25, 1988 to James T. McGhee who preceded her on death.

Dorothy is survived by four children, Rad Williams and Kathy Buckner of Myrtle, Missouri, Jody and Tina Williams of Myrtle, Missouri, Cheryl and Terry Hall of Myrtle, Missouri, and Charlotte Williams of Thayer, Missouri; six grandchildren, Brandy Hall, Mandy and Pat Truitt, Jeremy Hall and fiancé Shaina Dubois, Jody Williams, Ivy and Steven Joy and Joe Davis; four great grandchildren, Graham and Jamison Truitt, Finlee Humble, Madison and Gabby Dubois and Dalton Davis; one sister, Shelba and Jim Hunter; other relatives; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Palmer Dale and Lois Bell; her husbands, Norman Williams and James McGhee; and one sister, Evelyn Allen.

Dorothy was a Christian and a member of the Myrtle Free Will Baptist Church in Myrtle, Missouri.

She worked as a home health caregiver, providing compassionate care to many in need.

Dorothy enjoyed fishing, reading and embroidery.  Her greatest love was spending time with her family and friends.

She will truly be missed by her family and all who knew her.

Funeral services for Dorothy R. McGhee will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri with Joe Garrison officiating.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 5, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to service time at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer, Missouri.

Burial will be on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Bardley Cemetery in Bardley, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.

    May you have great fun with my mom Aunt Dot. I always loved and admired you so much. You have such a wonderful family and will be missed very much. All my love to my cousins.

    I always shall think of Dorothy as a sweet person. She gave me a very pretty decorative plate which I cherish. Prayers for the Lord to bless your family in this time of grief. Ralph and Linda Douglas
