Graveside services for Donald Ray Collins, 71, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Huddleston Cemetery with Brother Bill Bales officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

He was born the son of the late Lester Collins and Ethel Epley Collins, on May 3, 1942 in Dora, Missouri and died June 5, 2013 in West Plains, Missouri.

He was united in marriage October 20, 1961 in West Plains, Missouri to Thelma Campbell.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Campbell Collins, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; one daughter, Terri Hall, West Plains; two brothers, Ronald Collins, West Plains, and Larry Collins and wife, Carolyn, Springfield, Missouri; two grandchildren, Tabitha Jones and fiancee, Josh Swims, and Brandie Hall andĀ fiancee, Eric Case; four great grandchildren, Jordan Case, Jacub Jones, Milie Case, and Marlie Case, all of West Plains, and one sister-in-law, Fern Shelton, West Plains.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Phyllis Coe; one brother-in-law, Junior Shelton, and one grandson-in-law, Joshua Jones .

He was employed with the City of West Plains for sixteen years as a billing clerk and cashier. Later in life he was employed with Wal-Mart as the District Manager for the Automotive Department. He retired from there after 20 years. He was a loving husband and father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary General Baptist Church or the Huddleston Cemetery, and can be left at the funeral home.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Burial will be in Huddleston Cemetery, Oregon County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

    I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Don. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers as you go through sorrowful time. I will not be able to attend his service but please know I will be thinking about you.
