Donald Gene Collins, age 76, passed from this life Sunday, December 24, 2023, at his home near Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. He was born to Nancy Collins on April 16, 1947, in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.
Don married the love of his life Fredia A. Davis on August 13, 1965. Within this union they had two sons Darrell and Ronald. Don worked for Arkansas highway department in Highland, Arkansas operating various machinery doing road repairs. He retired from the highway department in June 2009. In Don’s younger days he loved to ride his horses with his two sons. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, helping his son cut and bail hay and checking on his son’s cattle.
Don and his wife Fredia enjoyed going on trails rides on their ATV with friends. He was an excellent mechanic and could repair most problems on cars, trucks and farming equipment. He was of the Baptist faith and was an active member of Forrest Hill Baptist church. He enjoyed the Sunday night Bible studies and looked forward to them. He was a born-again Christian.
He is survived by his son Darrell Collins, wife Traci of Thayer, Missouri; three granddaughters Kristin Brown, husband Andy of West Plains, Missouri, Shantana Collins of Russellville, Arkansas and Jancy Collins of McCook, Nebraska; one grandson Reese Collins of West Plains, Missouri; two great-grandsons Elijah Collins and Cade Brown; one great-granddaughter Carolina Brown; one sister Jean Denny of Glencoe, Arkansas; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife; one son; his mother; three brothers Gilbert Collins, Boyd Collins and Willis Dee; and one sister Wanda Lee Crawford.
Graveside services for Donald Collins, age 76, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Bradford cemetery in Hardy, Arkansas.
Visitation will be Thursday December 28, from 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri.
Interment will be on Friday, December 29, 2023, in Bradford Cemetery, Hardy, Arkansas with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.

To Jean, and Donald’s family! So sorry for your loss! I have many good memories of our childhood, visiting aunt Nancy, her great cooking, and playing with the cousins. It was so good seeing Donald awhile back, but had lost contact with the others! Rest in Peace sweet Don! Pat (Porter) Pauli
