- Dolly Grooms
Dolly Grooms was born the daughter of Luther Davis and Addie Letherland Davis on April 9, 1925 at Elm Store, Arkansas and departed this life March 17, 2011 in Stillwater, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years.
She was united in marriage March 10, 1947 in Salem, Arkansas to Grover Grooms, who preceded her in death December 12, 2005.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Jo Briscoe and husband, John of Pasadena, Texas and Suzanne Grooms Spears of Pawnee, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Geralyn Nolan, Jayme Brown, Sarah Ella Spears and Jack D. Spears; three great grandchildren, Bella, Evie and Nora; one sister, Billie Pausell of Cuba, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Addie Davis; her husband, Grover Grooms; one daughter, Jewelline Doran; one sister, Jessie Lane and two brothers, Carlos Davis and Joe Davis.
Dolly was a devoted homemaker, an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making crafts.
She was a Christian lady and of the Baptist faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all. She will truly be missed by all.
Graveside services will be Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Norman Cemetery with Brother Wayne Adrian officiating. Burial will be in the Norman Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home in Thayer.
