Diana Lee Nelson was born the daughter of Albert Benbow and Helen (Head) Benbow on May 13, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio, and entered eternal rest on August 13, 2017, at her home in Thayer, Missouri, at the age of 66 years.
She was united in marriage on September 30, 1972, in Chesterton, Indiana, to David Nelson.
She is survived by her husband, David Nelson of the home in Thayer, Missouri; three children, David Gerald Nelson of Thayer, Stephanie Hooker and husband, Lorin of Thayer, and Steven W. Nelson and wife, Heather of Michigan City, Indiana; her mother, Helen Benbow of North Vernon, Indiana; four grandchildren, Dakota, MacKenzi, Aydreanna and Christien; one great grandchild, Ronin; one brother, Albert Benbow of Michigan City, Indiana; three sisters, Evelyn Beaty of Williford, Arkansas, Viola Lane of West Port, Indiana, and Bonnie Hardebeck of Greensburg, Indiana; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Benbow, and two sisters, Christine Lossiah and Helen Wanda Benbow.
Diana attended the Gospel Music Cowboy Church in Williford, Arkansas, as long as health permitted.
She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed reading, watching movies and playing facebook games.
She will be remembered as a beloved wife, cherished daughter, loving mother, grandmother and sister. She will truly be missed by her family, her church family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Pastor Jim Polston officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 16th from 12:00 noon until service time.
Burial will be in Thayer Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
