Charles Edward Washam was born on April 30th, 1945, in Detroit Michigan to Robert and Ida Mae Washam. Charles entered into Heaven on April 23rd, 2022. Charles graduated from Mammoth Spring High School in 1963. He then went to College at ASU Jonesboro and graduated with a BA in education/science degree. Charles married Deborah Sue Wood on February 26th, 1970. Together they had three children, Craig, Christy, and Cory.

Charles taught business at Norfolk High School for 17 years. In the summers he worked for the Corps of Engineers for 10 years. After teaching he joined his father and brothers in their family business for an additional 23 years. He retired in 2007. 

Charles is survived by his wife, Debby Washam, his children, Craig & (Judy) Washam, Christy & (Scott) Heidy, Cory Washam, his brothers, Bobby & (Joann) Washam, Mike & (Martha) Washam, Larry Washam, Jimmy & (Joe Ann) Washam, his sister Susan & (Jim) Tuney, his brother-in-law, Cecil Wood, his grandchildren, Dalton, Ashlynn & (Jacob), Jensyn & (Josiah), Corbin, Braden, Jewlian, Annastyn, Brittany & (Zach), Amanda & (Tanner), Stacey, his great grandchildren, Eli, Myles, Keagan, Brylee, Braden.

Preceded in death are his parents, Robert and Ida Mae Washam, his sister Rosemary, his father and mother in laws Howard and Nina Sue Wood, his sister-in-law Eileen Rouse, and brother-in-law Kenneth Wood.

Charles had a long tough battle with multiple myeloma cancer that started in 2009. During this difficult battle his soul was saved and put into the Book of Life, as he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior.

Charles loved his family and was incredibly proud of all of his children and grand and great grandchildren. His family was truly his greatest blessing.

A memorial service will be held at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer Missouri on Sunday May 1, 2022 at 2:00pm. The family will receive guests prior to the service from 1:00pm until service time.
