Graveside services for Nancy Lee Batesel, 65, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Fowler Cemetery with Reverend Gale Wooten officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

She was born the daughter of the late Camby Batesel and Mary C. Casto Batesel, on October 13, 1946 in Hocomo, Missouri and died April 8, 2012 in West Plains, Missouri.

She is survived by two brothers, Camby “Sonny” Batesel, wife, Shirley, Marshfield, Missouri, and Paul Batesel, wife, Sarah, Mayville, North Dakota, and several nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, Camby and Mary C. Batesel, and one sister, Maxine Sanders.

Jackie (Jack) Dean Wallace, age 78, of West Plains, MO went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, MO.

He was born on August 9, 1933 in Alton, MO to the late Ernest and Helen Sanders Wallace. Jack graduated from Thomasville High School, where he was an outstanding athlete and was awarded an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Arkansas. Instead he opted to play one season of professional baseball under contract with the Chicago White Sox System. Jack joined the Navy during the Korean War, where he served for four years. On May 31, 1953, he was united in marriage to Lida Elizabeth Warren in Thomasville, MO, and together they had three children. In 1995, Jack retired from Cooper Industries, Bussman Fuse Division in Atlanta, GA. Soon after his retirement, Jack and Lida moved to West Plains, where Jack was an active member and faithfully served as a deacon at the United Free Will Baptist Church. He loved the Lord with all of his heart, and accepted Jesus as his personal Savior at the young age of thirteen. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his family. Jack enjoyed hunting, working on his hobby farm, and raising Missouri Fox-trotters. In his earlier years, Jack managed a traveling youth baseball team, coached them to a championship season, and continued to love watching games of baseball, basketball, and football throughout his life.

Dorothy Lee “Dottie” Robohm, the daughter of the late Edward Dorsey Castleberry and Daisy Dean Long Castleberry was born on April 1, 1915, at Des Arc, Arkansas. She entered into eternal peace March 21, 2012 at the age of 96 years.

On April 11, 1947 she was married at Leavenworth, Kansas, to John P. Robohm, who preceded her in death on January 11, 2000.

     Funeral services for Arthur R. Camp, 85, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with Reverend Richard Todd, Reverend. David Case, and Carl Williams officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.

      He was born the son of the late Arthur Elbert Camp and Elsie Camp, on October 6, 1926 in Brush, Colorado and died March 13, 2012 in West Plains, Missouri.

     He is survived by his lifetime companion, Louise Huddleston; fourteen children, Kathy, Phyllis, Judy, Ricky D., Vicki, Arthur A., Ralph, Ronnie, Ricky R., Randall, Rodney, Joey, Penny, and Sherry; one brother, LeRoy Camp and wife, Muriel; nephew, Ronald and wife, Alice, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sherry Lynn; one brother, Irving Camp, and two sisters. He served his country with the United States Army during WWII. He was employed with Case Tractor Company for many years, and later after retiring worked on his farm.

     Visitation will be Friday, March 16, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

     Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery, Thomasville, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

     Alice Joyce Garrison, 78, daughter of the late Elias Thomson and Dorothy Redfield Thomson, was born January 6, 1934 in Oakland, California and entered into eternal rest February 18, 2012 at her home in West Plains, Missouri.

     Alice was married to Walter Martz in 1952 and had 4 children. She then remarried her surviving husband, Duleth (Duke) Garrison in 1975. Alice was a wonderful caring person who loved and touched everyone she met. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She was an accomplished poet, writer and photographer with many awards and recognitions for her work. Her 36 year journey with Duke expanded her interests to include prize winning jams, jellies and embroidery to which she delighted in entering in local fairs and contests. Her home on JJ was covered in photos and ribbons acquired over the years. No one who knew her could accuse her of any bias because anyone who was dear to her could be found on her walls of honor. Those that touched her life or she touched theirs could be found in her numerous photo albums. Alice as the matriarch of an extensive family has been the center of numerous conversations as “Grandma Duke” and she is best remembered by those as always having just enough time to send an article or news clipping from a magazine or news paper that she thought someone would like, and to add a short note in the margins to let that one person know she is thinking about them. She will be missed by all.

     Alice is survived by her husband, Duke Garrison; Sister, Esther Smith. Two Brothers; David and Lewis Thomson. Her four children, Steve Martz, Susan Thompson, Joyce French, Betty LaBoucane and two step daughters, Linda and Rosie. Additionally she was blessed with 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. All of which span the continent and a few foreign countries.

     A Celebration Of Life will be held on March 24^th, 2012 at 2:00pm in the West Vue Nursing Home Dining Facility.

Funeral Services for Jean Cunningham, 93, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with Pastor Brian Oswald officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.

She was born the daughter of the late Columbus Birmingham and Ednar Gilliam Birmingham, on March 11, 1918 in Dowdy, Arkansas and died February 19, 2012 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

She was united in marriage in California to Joe Roberts, who preceded her in death. She was later married on August 29, 1997 in Swifton, Arkansas to Bob Cunningham.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Cunningham, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; two daughters, Winnie May Hulen and Betty Miller; three step-sons, Rick Cunningham, Rob Cunningham, and Jim Cunningham; one sister, Wilma May Lee, and two brothers, Clay Birmingham and Truman Birmingham; four nephews, Tommy Lee, Darrell Birmingham, Jerry Lee, and Francis Birmingham; one niece, Tina Perrin; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, and other family and friends.

Violet Geneva Roberts Eagleman was born on November 3, 1919 in Beyers, Kansas to Sam and Ireva Roberts. Violet went to be with her Lord on February 12, 2012. She had two loving brothers, John and Ralph Roberts. After the death of her mother she was adopted at the age of 9 by Leona and William Ritchey of Leota, Missouri, joining their children, Grace, Bob and Lynn Ritchey. Violet met and married the love of her life, Allen Henry Eagleman of Leota, Missouri in Dec. 1936. They celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on December 17, 2011.

Allen and Violet were blessed with a son, Allen Kenneth, daughters Leta Barbara, and Linda Kay before moving to California in 1947. They settled close to Violets brothers and sister and farmed in the McFarland, Delano, Pixley area of the San Joaquin Valley. They moved to Redding, CA in 1956 and soon made their home in Central Valley, CA where they lived for 52 years.

Violet and Allen were very active in the Church of Christ every place they lived until poor health slowed their activities. Violet arranged flowers for the altar of the church, in addition to wedding receptions and special activities of her children, grandchildren, and friends. She was an excellent seamstress, teaching her skills to her daughters at an early age. She served as a leader in 4-H clubs and PTA’s. She loved quilts, a skill she learned from her mother Leona. She helped Allen raise an annual garden with fresh vegetables, and beautiful fruit trees for sharing with family and friends. Violet loved preparing food for any occasion and was well known for her cream style corn, green beans, strawberry waffles, apple and berry pies, and the cinnamon and dinner rolls she prepared for many years at the Church camp at Lake Almanor.

Graveside services for Mary Ellen Cochran, 90, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2012, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, with Si Cochran officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.

She was born the daughter of the late Hiram Tom and Rada Kimbell Tom, on January 26, 1922 in Plain, Indiana and died February 14, 2012 in West Plains, Missouri.

She was united in marriage December 8, 1939 in Batesville, Arkansas to John B. Cochran, who preceded her in death May 2, 1988.

She is survived by three sons, David L. Cochran, wife, Charlotte, Michael Cochran, wife, Ada, and Timothy J. Cochran, wife, Anne, all of West Plains, Missouri; six grandchildren, Cindy Eubanks, husband, John, David Cochran, DDS, wife, Kelli, Lance Cochran, wife, Alissa, all of West Plains, Missouri; Marty Cochran, wife, Solara, Golden, Colorado, Sarah Lovan, husband, Ramey, Paragould, Arkansas, and Si Cochran, wife, Anna, Souix City, Iowa; nine great grandchildren, Emily and Connor Cochran, Karlee and Mason Cochran, all of West Plains, Missouri, Zane Cochran, Golden, Coloradio, Chance and Parker Lovan, Paragould, Arkansas, and Judah and Elijah Cochran, Souix City, Iowa.

Eldon Ray Burgess, 81, son of the late Loyd Burgess and Dorothy Bridges Burgess, was born on December 9, 1930 in Pomona, Missouri and departed this life on February 14, 2012 at Timberlake Care Center, Kansas City, Missouri, where he had spent the last four years.

He was united in marriage June 5, 1954 at West Plains, Missouri to Eva Dunkin.

He is survived by his wife, Eva, of Overland Park, Kansas; one brother, Lloyd Burgess of Sacramento, California; five sisters, Jane Stoneman, Raytown, Missouri, Myrna Clark, Overland Park, Kansas, Judy Hanshaw, West Plains, Missouri, Betty Rhodes, Springfield, Missouri, and Mary Arnote, Raymore, Missouri; several nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Donnie Mae Barnett, 71, Koshkonong, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2012, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with Brother Bill Bales officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

She was born the daughter of the late Herbert Engbrock and Londina Lierman Engbrock, on April 7, 1940 in Cameron, Texas and died January 18, 2012 in West Plains, Missouri.

She was united in marriage August 2, 1980 in Waco, Texas to Lon Barnett.

She is survived by her husband, Lon Barnett, Koshkonong, Missouri; two children, Diane Brown, Marlin, Texas, and Cara Anderson, Marlin, Texas; three step-children, Rhonda Herman, husband, David, Waco, Texas, Susan Quiroz, husband, Joe, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Lon R. Barnett, wife, Michelle, Williamsburg, Virginia; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
