Nadine Bernice Armstrong, 93, of West Plains, Missouri, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017. She was born in Bexar, Arkansas, on May 18, 1923, to Morrison and Myrlte Harris. After graduating from West Plains High School in 1940, she went to work for the Rural Electric Authority (REA). During that time, she received her pilot’s license and quickly became notorious for flying under the Tecumseh, Missouri, bridge.

Nadine married Richard Alvin Armstrong in 1946 and was married 42 years until his death in 1988. Together they lived in Calico Rock, Arkansas, where they owned the Armstrong Drug Store, installing the pharmacy’s first soda fountain in 1948. Subsequently, they returned to West Plains, Missouri, where Nadine raised three chidlren and began a career with the Division of Social Services. She decided to continue her education at the West Plains Residence Center, graduating from SMS in 1972. She was a field auditor for the Missouri Division of Employment Security where she retired after 26 years of service.

After her retirement, Nadine enjoyed playing golf where she achieved golf’s ultimate prize, making a hole in one. She enjoyed reading to elementary school children and traveling with friends to Tunica. She was an avid reader. She loved to cook and took pride in her breads, rolls, pies and cakes. Most of all, she enjoyed and loved her grandchildren, Chase, Lauren, Annie and Tanner.

Nadine is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Alvin Armstrong; her daughter, Ann Harris Armstrong-Haren; and her brothers Junior Harris and Calvin Harris. She is survived by her son, Dick Armstrong of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida and his long term girlfriend, Bren Cook;

Funeral services for Geneva Trantham, 78, Koshkonong, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 25, 2017, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, Missouri.

She was born the daughter of the late Walter Mayfield and Thelma Bartley Mayfield, on November 18, 1938 in Ramona, Oklahoma and died March 19, 2017 in Koshkonong, Missouri.

She was united in marriage July 7, 1959 in West Plains, Missouri to Leroy Trantham.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy Trantham, of the home, Koshkonong, Missouri; one son, Charles Trantham and wife Alice, Hawk Point, Missouri; one brother, Norman Mayfield and wife Evelyn, Lake Side, Oregon; one sister, Loeta Watson, West Plains, Missouri;

Funeral services for Helen AnnaMae Harlan, 86,, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with Brother Bobby Ryan officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

She was born the daughter of the late Clelly Jackson and Gussie Madden Jackson, on June 3, 1930 in Flint, Michigan and died March 17, 2017 in West Plains, Missouri.

She was united in marriage September 8, 1953 in Lincoln, Illinois to John H. Harlan, who preceded her in death December 28, 2014.

She is survived by six children, Billy Jackson and wife Sarah, Springfield, Missouri; Bobby Henson and wife Pat, Kansas City, Missouri; Dennis Henson and wife Sue, West Plains, Missouri; Kathy Bentzel, Alton, Missouri; Johnny Harlan and wife Judy, West Plains, Missouri, and Debbie Schultz and husband Willie, Caney, Kansas;

Rose Ledbetter, daughter of the late Weston Lamb and step dad, Harvey Routh and mother, Betty Van Wagoner Routh, was born June 30, 1943 in Flint, Michigan and died March 16, 2017 in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 73 years.
She was united in marriage February 1, 2002 to Dean Ledbetter.

She is survived by her husband, Dean Ledbetter, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; her mother, Betty Routh, Las Vegas, Nevada; four children, Dallas Selby and wife Barbara, Willow Springs, Missouri; John Selby and wife Kimberly, Mountain View, Missouri; Rose Waldrup and husband, Tom, Highlandville, Missouri, and Sunshine Ledbetter, West Plains, Missouri; one brother, Lee Harmon, Las Vegas, Nevada; three sisters, Margo Seibert Coney and husband, Terrel, Kingman, Arizona; Roxanne “Rocky” Dusenbery, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Alice Selby, Vanburen, Arkansas; nine grandchildren, Nicole Beltz and husband David, West Plains, Missouri;

Funeral services for Mabel M. French, 83, will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, Missouri.

She was born the daughter of the late James Perry Harper and Lois D. Cole Harper, on October 15, 1933 in Harrisburg, Arkansas and died March 1, 2017 in Caulfield, Missouri.

She was united in marriage November 1, 1952 in Harrisburg, Arkansas to Albert French.

She is survived by her husband, Albert French, of the home, Caulfield, Missouri; five children, Terry French and wife Cindy, Rover, Missouri; Tom French and wife Debbie, Pomona, Missouri; Tina Hendrix and husband Dennis, West Plains, Missouri; Teressa Osborn and husband, Keith, Willard, Missouri, and Michael L. French, Apache, Oklahoma; four brothers, James Harper and wife Carrie, Harrisburg, Arkansas; Larry Harper, Jonesboro, Arkansas; Johnny Harper and wife Brenda, Harrisburg, Arkansas, and Rick Harper and wife Connie, West Plains, Missouri; twenty grandchildren; 58 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Keith French; two brothers, Jr. Harper and Randy Harper, and two sisters, Dottie Ingersoll and Carol Loggains.

She attended the Assembly of God Church. She loved to garden, work with her flowers, and loved to write. She also enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and great great grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and can be left at Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Burial will be in Amy Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

Funeral services for Daniel Hill, 63, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with Dr. John Marshall officiating and a eulogy given by Paul Hill, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.
He was born the son of David Hill and Josie Watts Hill, on February 14, 1954 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and died February 27, 2017 in West Plains, Missouri.

He was united in marriage July 19, 1985 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Linda Spear.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Spear Hill, of the home; his parents David Hill and Josie Watts Hill, West Plains, Missouri; two children, Rachel Hill Keiss and husband Warren, Wichita, Kansas and Mary Mcallister and husband, Cheyenne, West Plains, Missouri; three brothers, Paul Hill and wife Teresa, Arnold, Missouri; Thomas Hill and wife Sandy, Summit, Arkansas, and Timothy Hill and wife Karen, Springfield, Missouri.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in West Plains, Missouri.

Margarett Ellen Easley Judd was born July 17, 1928 in Fairfax Missouri and departed this life February 16, 2017 at OMC in West Plains, Missouri.

She was united in marriage to Alva Jr Judd, September 10, 1954.

She was born the daughter of the late George Dewey Powell and Roxie Fern (Roy) Powell on October 27, 1933 at Alton Missouri.

Gary “Frog” Magnuson, 66, West Plains, died February 4, 2017 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains.

Funeral services for Gary “Frog” Magnuson will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Burial will be held at Davis Cemetery, Oregon County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

A celebration of life for Bob Kenneth Eades , 60, West Plains, will be held Saturday, January 28th at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in West Plains, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until time of service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

He was born November 30, 1956, at West Plains to Floyd and Leota Eades.

On June 3, 1979 he was married to Regina Whitsell.

Bob was a master wood craftsman and took much pride in his work. His legacy carries on through his children, Trenton Eades and Madison Eades, who were born to this union.

He served on the Glenwood R-8 from 1997 to 2012. For many of those years he was president of the board. During Bob’s tenure on the Glenwood Board of Education, he was the backbone of the board, his quiet determination and wisdom helped see the district though some hard times and tough situations.

Bob enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and took many trips across the country. He also enjoyed raising English Bulldogs and seldom made a trip to town without one riding shotgun.

Bob is survived by wife, Regina, son Trenton and his special girl friend, Susie Ray, and daughter Madison; his sister Rita Mueller, St. Louis, Missouri;
