Funeral services for Clara Jo Wheeler Barton Case of West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

Mrs. Case passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains, Missouri.

Clara Case was born September 5, 1937, in Piney Community in Missouri to Bernice Wheeler. She received her education at Piney School, Missouri. Clara Jo was raised by her grandparents, John Paris and Clara Wheeler.

On August 18, 1955, she was married to Oren Barton at Alton, Missouri. On July 22, 1988, she was married to Charles Case at Koshkonong, Missouri.

Mrs. Case retired from Eaton/Invensys. She attended Calvary General Baptist Church. Clara enjoyed fishing, attending church, visiting friends and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles; two sons, DeWayne Barton and wife Stacy, Spring, Texas, Dean Barton and wife Chrisie, Willow Springs, Missouri; three daughters, Debbie Brawley Strain, Willow Springs, Missouri, Donna Parrott and husband Mike, Brownsburg, Indiana, and Darlene Wilson and husband Jerry, West Plains, Missouri;

Michael “Mike” James Kelly, age 57, of West Plains, Missouri departed this life Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family as was his wish.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life Thursday evening July 27, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the First Freewill Baptist Church in West Plains, Missouri, with his funeral to follow on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the church also under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

Mike was survived by his beloved wife, Sundi and two children, Samantha and Dugan and one granddaughter, Makenna Coy Roberts. Mike was also survived by his mother, Evelyn Sepin, his father, Earl Isom, his adoptive father, Ron Kelly; siblings Art Kelly and wife Melody, West Plains, Missouri, Erin Kelly, Dallas, Texas, Stacy Salazar, Kansas City, Missouri, Joe Isom, Kansas City, Missouri, Gina Isom, Kansas City, Missouri, Tina Edwards and husband Tom, Platte City, Kansas, and Tracy Bustamante and husband, Miguel, Kansas City, Missouri.

Vallie Mayfield, 88, entered into heaven Friday, June 23, after battling bone cancer. She will be greatly missed.

Vallie Caroline Mayfield was born on January 11, 1929, to John and Rosie Marshall in Kirbyville, Missouri.

At age 6 Vallie was adopted by William Richard and Lela Geist of Salem, Missouri. She attended Salem Public Schools and graduated from Salem High School in 1946. Vallie went on to earn a Registered Nurse degree from Missouri Baptist School of Nursing in St. Louis in 1949.

Vallie was married to Roy Mayfield on October 22, 1949. To this union three daughters were born, Cherry Elaine, Joyce Ann and Donna Sue.

Vallie worked as a registered nurse in hospitals in St. Louis, Hannibal, Kirbyville and St. Charles. She was employed at West Vue Nursing Home in West Plains. Mrs. Mayfield began the Health Occupations Program at the Votech School

Funeral services for Aone Emmett Wheeler, 82, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 23, 2017, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ronnie Wheeler officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.

He was born the son of the late James Henry Wheeler and Marianna Francis Horner Wheeler, on January 17, 1935 in Sweet Water, Texas and died June 19, 2017 in West Plains, Missouri.

He was united in marriage June 22, 1956 in Coalinga, California to Odessia Jane Romans.

He is survived by his wife, Odessia Jane Romans Wheeler, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; four sons, Ronnie Wheeler and wife Marybeth, Mountain View, Missouri, Don Wheeler and wife Ivena, Mountain View, Missouri, James Wheeler and wife Carma,

Funeral services for Leslie Fred Brashear, 83, Koshkonong, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 16, 2017, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

He was born the son of the late Cecil Brashear and Lela Day Brashear, on April 25, 1934 in Adren, Oregon and died June 13, 2017 in Thayer, Missouri.

He is survived by five children, Jerry Brashear and wife Dolly, Koshkonong, Missouri, Jeannie Morris and husband Mike, Thayer, Missouri, Patty Johnson and husband Michael, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma,

Ellouise Morton died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the National Health Care Nursing Home in West Plains, Missouri.

She was born October 5, 1926 in Dora, Missouri to Homer and Dorothy Warren Luna.

She was united in marriage September 26, 1942 to Jimmie Birdsong, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by sons, Jerry Birdsong and Jarrett Birdsong and wife Donna; sister, Rozelle Partida; brother, Bernie Luna and wife Wanda; granddaughters, Sherrie Taylor, Cindy Thompson, Julie Clark, and Rachelle Caraway, and Kari Leroy; five great grandchildren, and many friends.

During WWII she was a piston inspector at the Pratt and Whitney Factory in Kansas City. Many remember her as a cook in the Dora School cafeteria.

She enjoyed her artwork and everyone was glad to receive her handmade cards. She gave art classes to nursing home patients in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three husbands; sons, Gerald Birdsong and Rickey Birdsong;

Funeral services for Dorotha E. Romans, 97, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains with Reverend Ronnie Wheeler officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.

She was born the daughter of the late Cleve Redburn and Effie Jane King Redburn, on December 11, 1919 in Howell County, Missouri and died June 4, 2017 in West Plains, Missouri.

She was united in marriage April 29, 1939 in Elk Creek, Missouri to Hurvil L. Romans, who preceded her in death January 14, 1998.

She is survived by four children, Odessia Wheeler, Charles Romans, Virgil Romans, and Rebecca Romans Hundley; fourteen grandchildren;

David Henry Hill, son of the late Reverend A. B. Hill and Esther L. Wilcox Hill, was born May 20, 1932 in Santa Paula, California and died May 31, 2017 at his home in West Plains, Missouri.

He was united in marriage on June 1, 1953 to Josie Willadean Watts in Pocahontas, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife Josie Willadean Hill; three sons, Paul James Hill and wife Teresa; Thomas Bealfred Hill and wife Sandy; Timothy Dale Hill and wife Karen; one brother, James Hill and sister, Evelyn Marshall; twelve grandchildren, Matthew Hill, Joshua Hill, Sharon DeVore, Sarah Dillon, Rachel Keiss, Michael Hill, Mary McCallister, Andrew Hill, Allegra Hill, Chase Briscoe,

Randy Ira Peek was born on August 30, 1952 in Longmont, Colorado to Don and Agnes Peek, and went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 6, 2017.

Randy was the youngest boy to his siblings, Gloria, Rita, and Paula. He has two grown sons from a prior marriage, Billy Joe Peek, age 44, and Gary (Pete) Peek, age 41. He also has three step-children, Travis, Charlie, and Telesa Joe, whom he enjoyed spending time with. He also loved spending time with all of his grandchildren.
Randy is preceded in death by his loving parents; an infant son, Justin Ira Peek, and two brothers-in-law, Jack Hill and Gordon Taylor.

Randy graduated from Longmont High School. He began working in the Cement Foundation, and Construction Field,

Barbara A. Hollingshad, 72, West Plains, Missouri died April 23, 2017 at her home in West Plains, Missouri, following a short illness.

She was born March 16, 1945, daughter of Joseph and Mary Lou (Cropper) Scoggin.

She was united in marriage on May 16, 1966 to Jerry Hollingshad in Miami, Oklahoma. Together they owned and operated Pop-A-Top and On-the-Run Pizza in Dora, Missouri for eleven years.

Barbara worked many jobs throughout her life, but her favorite role was being a homemaker and loving grandma. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, quilting, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband Jerry of the family home; one son, Ray and his wife Sally of Springfield, Missouri; one daughter, Jo Beth and her husband Doug of O’Fallon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Zachary, Ethan, and Amelia Hollingshad, and Shelby and Ella Brown;
