Gregory Henry Shilvock was born the son of Herbert Shilvock and Helen (Vladar) Shilvock on September 25, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, and died on August 4, 2017, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 65 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Amy Shilvock of the State of Florida; one son, Jeffery Shilvock of the State of Texas; one grandson, Adler Shilvock; two sisters, Kathy Fowler of Branson, Missouri and Rita Leganski of Berwyn, Illinois; one nephew, Mike Leganski of Joliet, Illinois; one niece, Sue Pyle of Berwyn, Illinois, many cousins, neighbors, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Helen Shilvock and two brothers, Donald Shilvock and Bob Wroblewski.

Greg was a veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Army.

He was an accomplished cement finisher, working as long as health permitted.

Greg was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting.

His favorite pastime was having a good time with his cousins and friends.

He will sadly be missed by his family and many friends.

Visitation for Mr. Shilvock will be held, Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.  Burial will follow immediately in Jeff Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc in Thayer, Missouri.

Lehman Ehrhardt was born the son of Arthur Thomas Ehrhardt and Vernie Lou Mary James Ehrhardt on December 27, 1928, Randolph County, Arkansas and died July 28, 2017 in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 88 years.

He was united in marriage on May 20, 1948, in Alton, Missouri to JoRheta Ehrhardt who preceded him in death on April 8, 2014.

He is survived by one daughter, Vicky Lynn Rhoads and husband, Steve of Clever, Missouri; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Pat Fisher of West Plains, Missouri; one son-in-law, Ronnie Mills of St. Peters, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Rose Ehrhardt of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; several nieces, nephews; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Vernie Ehrhardt; his wife, JoRheta Ehrhardt; one son, Cleatus Ehrhardt; one daughter, Brenda Mills; one brother, Millard Ehrhardt and five sisters, Audrey Ehrhardt, Dorthy Smith, Lossie Evans, Geneva Ehrhardt and Doris Deckard.

Lehman was a lifelong resident of Myrtle, Missouri. He was a well-known logger in the area and continued to work in this business until his retirement.

He was a Christian and was of the Church of Christ faith.

Lehman will be remembered as a gifted fiddle player and enjoyed getting together with friends to play music.

Lehman was deeply devoted to his family. He enjoyed family gatherings, conversation and JoRheta’s home cooked meals, which span a total of sixty-six years. He will truly be missed by all that knew him.

Funeral services for Lehman Ehrhardt will be held, Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, July 31, 2017 from 6-8 PM.

Burial will be in Myrtle Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc in Thayer.

Howard Ransom Elliott was born the son of Howard Elliott, Sr. and Minnie Elliott on January 10, 1949, in Waukegan, Illinois.  After a brief illness, he died on July 25, 2017, at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas, at the age of 68 years.

He was united in marriage on June 14, 1981, in Riverwood, Illinois to Carol Lucas.

He is survived by his wife, Carol and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Howard earned his BS Degree at Southern Illinois University in Normal, Illinois and a Masters Degree in Journalism from North Western University in Chicago, Illinois.

He was an Editor for the Elgin Daily Courier News in Elgin, Illinois, where he met his wife, Carol.

After their move to the Ozarks, Howard became an ole time costume photographer on the major fair circuit.

He and Carol were partners and publishers of Hill ‘n Holler Review.  This publication was delivered to numerous businesses throughout the area.

Howard was musically inclined.  He played saxophone and clarinet and sang for the Repertory Theater of the Ozarks, performing in the production of “Cats” and several other shows.

He will truly be missed.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Jeff Cemetery near Thayer, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

George Dutton, age 78, of Myrtle, Missouri, formerly of Harley, Mississippi, died Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 4:55 AM at his home in Myrtle.

A memorial service for Mr. Dutton will be held at a later date  in Mississippi.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc in Thayer.

Joan Lorene Lancaster was born the daughter of Cecil “Shorty” Smith and Wilma Fraizer Smith on March 14, 1943, in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and died July 21, 2017, at her home near Koshkonong, Missouri, at the age of 74 years.

She was united in marriage on February 20, 1967 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas to Jerry Lancaster.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry of the home in Koshkonong, Missouri; one daughter, Jennifer Litteken of Sullivan, Missouri; two sons, Jeff Lancaster and wife, Holly of Koshkonong, Missouri and Jackie Lancaster and wife, Kimberly of Pomona, Missouri; four granddaughters, Cecelia, Olivia, Abigail and Isabel; one brother, James Smith and wife, Carolyn of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil “Shorty” and Wilma Smith.

She was a life long member of the Mammoth Spring Church of Christ.

Joan was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and was an excellent seamstress.

She will be remembered as deeply devoted to her family. She will truly be missed by all that knew her.

Ethel Frances Heger was born the daughter, and only child, of John Heger, Jr. and Mary Ann Baertels Heger on November 13, 1916, in Stratford, Texas, and died July 17, 2017, at Shady Oaks Healthcare in Thayer, Missouri, at the age of 100 years.

She is survived by her cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Ann Heger.

Ethel worked in the Loan Department at the Bank of Thayer for many years.

In her earlier years, Ethel was active in her community and was a former member of the Mammoth Spring Garden Club and the Mammoth Spring Altruist Club.

She was a life-long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Thayer, Missouri.

She will be sadly missed by her cousins and her family at Shady Oaks Healthcare in Thayer, where she had lived for the past few years.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 20, 2017, at 11:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Thayer with Father Shoby Chettiyath officiating.

Burial will be in Thayer Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

Ada Lee Reynolds was born the daughter of William Henry Gazaway and Nellie Jane Holland Gazaway on September 5, 1910, in Gatewood, Missouri, and died July 17, 2017, at Tablerock Healthcare in Kimberling City, Missouri, at the age of 106 years.

She was united in marriage on October 24, 1935, at Gatewood, Missouri, to Lehman Reynolds, who preceded her in death on November 18, 2002.

She is survived by her son, David Paul Reynolds of Rolla, Missouri; one granddaughter, Traci Fox and husband, Bobby of Rome, New York; twin great grandchildren, Landon David Mathews and Lauren Olivia Mathews of Steelville, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lehman Reynolds; her daughter-in-law, Ruthann Reynolds; her grandson, Mark David Reynolds; two sisters, Maida Roberts and Ruth Tucker and one brother, William Irvin Gazaway.

She was a member of the Centerpoint Church of God of Prophecy in Myrtle, Missouri.

Ada was an amazing cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Her favorite pastime was quilting her hand-pieced quilts and sharing them with family.

Ada was a special lady. She will be missed by her family and her extended family at Tablerock Healthcare, where she had lived for many years.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at 10:00 AM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Erman Croney officiating.

Imogene Opal Rucker was born the daughter of Arnold Dunham and Lucille (McGhee) Dunham on March 11, 1926, in Myrtle, Missouri, and died June 18, 2017, in Caldwell, Texas, at the age of 91 years.

She was united in marriage to Wafe Deckard in January of 1943.

She is survived by seven children, Barbara Jones of Caldwell, Texas, Shirley Benjamin and husband, Scottie of Kansas City, Missouri, James Deckard and wife, Teresa of Republic, Missouri, Michael Ray Deckard of Boonville, Missouri, Marilyn Combs of Bryan, Texas, Maxine Deckard of Caldwell, Texas, and Robert Deckard of Caldwell, Texas; one brother, Larry Dunham of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Annie Mae West of Hoxie, Arkansas, Oweda Few of Albion, Michigan, and Lola Mclellen of Albion, Michigan; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Lucille Dunham; her husband, Wafe Deckard; one daughter, Linda Faye Deckard; two grandchildren, Aaron and Sherrie; two great grandchildren, Diana and April; four brothers, Samuel, Paul, Billy, and Charlie; and three sisters, Sue, Ann, and Opal.

Mrs. Rucker was a Christian lady and loved to sing gospel hymns with friends, while living at Burleson St. Joseph Manor in Caldwell, Texas.

She enjoyed arts and crafts and the game of bingo.

She was a homemaker and was deeply devoted to her family. She will truly be missed by all that knew her.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 11:00 AM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Erman Croney officiating.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time.

Burial will be in Thayer Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

Viola Elvira (Sterling) Herrick McDonald was born the daughter of Elmer Anderson Sterling and Ethel Lee (Phillips) Sterling on September 22, 1921, in Quitman, Arkansas and died June 15, 2017, in Thayer, Missouri, at the age of 95 years.

She was united in marriage on December 19, 1942 in Camp, Arkansas to Harold Ray Herrick who preceded her in death in October 1948. She was united in marriage in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas in July 1950 to Austin McDonald who preceded her in death in May 1993.

She is survived by four daughters, Sharon Nickless and husband, Paul Dean of Camdenton, Missouri, Shirley Henley and husband, Dick of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Charlotte Hurtt and husband, Charlie of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and Diana Rogers and husband, Kennith of Joshua, Texas ; one sister, Carole Koehn of Orville, California; five grandchildren, Rick Henley and wife, Tammy, Amy Henley Bryant and husband, Larry, Kimberly Desiderio and husband, Tom, Kennith Bradley Rogers and wife, Wendi and Nathan Todd Rogers and wife, Taylor; twenty-two great grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Ethel Sterling; five brothers, Leonard, Albert, Floyd, Joe and Cecil Sterling and two sisters, Ruby Browning and Selma Sterling.

She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.

Mrs. McDonald enjoyed life. Her hobbies included reading, crocheting and embroidering. She was the oldest active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #7831 and was a member of the Spring River Lions Club.

She was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all. She will truly be missed by all that knew her.

Funeral services for Viola Herrick McDonald will be held, Sunday, June 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Erman Croney officiating.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 PM until time of service.

Burial will be in Thayer Cemetery services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
