Funeral Services for Burnice Lorene Welton, 85, Mountain Grove, Missouri, will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at the Richville Seven Day Adventist Church, Douglas County, Missouri, with Pastor Wayne Turnbull officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
She was born the daughter of the late Lee Wake and Totsie Collins Wake, on July 1, 1925 in Douglas County, Missouri and died February 13, 2011 in Mountain Grove, Missouri.
She was united in marriage April 22, 1940 in Douglas County, Missouri to Eslie Turnbull, who preceded her in death January 1, 1974.
She is survived by two children, Wayne Turnbull and wife, Opal, Springdale, Arkansas, and Ralph Turnbull and wife, Connie, Vanzant, Missouri; one brother, Leslie Wake and wife, Aldean, Crescent City, California; one sister-in-law, Ruby Turnbull, Vanzant, Missouri; ten grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son, Elvon Turnbull; three brothers; an infant sister, and one grandchild.
She was a member of the Richville Seventh Day Adventist Church in Douglas County, Missouri. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, embroidering, and yard sales. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Richville Seven Day Adventist Church, Douglas County, Missouri, and can be left at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Mound Cemetery, Douglas County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
