Barbara Elizabeth Busby

Funeral services for Barbara Elizabeth Busby, 94, Mountain Home, Arkansas, formerly of Bakersfield, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2018, at the Bakersfield Assembly of God Church under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

She was born the daughter of the late John Henry Smith and Fanny Jane Sutterfield Smith, on March 8, 1923 in Fifty Six, Arkansas and died February 12, 2018 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

She was united in marriage October 15, 1943 in Lake City, Arkansas to Coy Busby, who preceded her in death August 3, 2006.

She is survived by three children, Sue Hill and husband Jim, Tumbling Shoals, Arkansas; Carilyn Busby, Gassville, Arkansas, and Albert Busby and wife Jill, Bakersfield, Missouri; two brothers, Hanford Smith and wife Roberta, House Springs, Missouri and Benford Smith and wife Maxine, Big Flat, Arkansas; one sister, Ruby Wilkins, Mountain Home, Arkansas;one son-in-law, Roy Clarkson, Seymour, Indiana;  eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one daughter, Linda Clarkson; eight brothers and two sisters, and one granddaughter, Ladonna Parker.

She was a member of the Bakersfield Assembly of God Church, Bakersfield, Missouri. She was always faithful to attend all the services when she was able to be out.

She picked cotton around Caraway, Arkansas in her earlier years. In 1965 she moved to Bakersfield, Missouri, which she made her home with her husband, Coy and their children.

She was a homemaker and helped on the farm. After moving to town she enjoyed walking and could often be seen walking around town. She also enjoyed riding the OATS bus with all of her friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. until service time at the Bakersfield Assembly of God Church.

Burial will be in Bakersfield Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
