Memorial services for Rose Marie Eaves, age 65, of Alton, Missouri, will be held Saturday evening, April 9, 2016 at 7:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri, with Chaplain David Langston officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Carter Funeral Home in Thayer on Saturday evening, April 9, 2016 from 6:00 PM until service time.
Martin McGuire, 52, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, March 20, 2016.
He was born December 22, 1963 in Melrose Park, Illinois, and lived in Ohio and Florida before calling West Plains, Missouri his home for the past ten years.
He leaves a wife, Tina; two sons, Jacob of West Plains and Martin Lee of Lakeland, Florida.
Martin was the eldest of five children born to Harry and Lorraine McGuire of Lakeland, Florida, who are still living.
He has four siblings, Brian McGuire, Florida, Todd McGuire, Florida, Lori McGuire-Lorenzo, North Carolina, and Amanda McGuire-Walker, Florida and their spouses; five grandchildren, Colby, Cordell, Leeum, Jesse, and Annaleigh due in July, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Alta L. “Dot” Heilig, 87, Mt. View, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 1, 2016, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains with Brother Bill Bales officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.
She was born the daughter of the late Walter McClure and Albertine Keifer McClure, on April 28, 1928 in Perry County, Missouri and died March 25, 2016 in Mountain View, Missouri.
She was united in marriage October 3, 1944 in Blytheville, Arkansas to Casper Heilig, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by four children, Casper O. Heilig and wife Connie, Mtn. View, Missouri, Ellen Andrzejczyk of Pomona, Missouri, Cathy Heilig of Gulf Port, Mississippi, and Chris Heilig, Rolla, Missouri; two sisters, Betty Heilig, state of Illinois and Deloris Weiss, St. Louis, Missouri; one brother, Cecil McClure, St. Louis, Missouri; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren, and thirteen great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sons, Robert and Ray Heilig; two sisters, Ethel Staffen and Monica Holiday, and five brothers, Charles, Joseph, Calvin, Leroy, and Marvin McClure, and one granddaughter, Journey Andrzejczyk.
She worked all her life. Her last place of employment was at Ramada Inn in West Plains, Missouri. Her love was the outdoors. She loved to grow her own vegetables and also enjoyed her flowers. She was an avid bird watcher and watching all the wildlife. She enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Most importantly she had a strong belief in God.
Family visitation will be Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.
Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
Funeral services for Oren Eugene Sanders, 92, of West Plains will be Monday, March 28, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.
Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Sanders passed away Wednesday, March 24, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains.
Mr. Sanders was born March 23, 1924 at Couch, Missouri, to Vertie Russell Sanders and Robert Jackson Sanders, Sr.
He attended school at the Garfield School and graduated with the
Class of 1942 at Couch High School, both in Oregon County.
After graduating from high school, he trained as a machinist and worked on his family’s farm until he was inducted into the United States Army in 1943 proudly serving during World War II as a machinist. He liked to tell that during his military service he traveled around the world leaving New York City for France then Germany. He sailed through the Panama Canal on his way to the Philippines, then to Japan, and returning to the states at Seattle, Washington.
Oren Sanders married Ada Jessilee Stubblefield on September 21, 1946. They were to have celebrated 70 years of marriage this year. Their two children are Edward E. Sanders and Donna Sanders Hayes.
Mr. Sanders and his brother-in-law, Joe Stubblefield, owned and operated Sanders and Stubblefield Implement Company in Alton and West Plains from 1957’until he sold his interest in 1972. He was a proud JOHN DEERE man; his favorite tractor was his 1941 John Deere LA which he drove in many local parades. He was a charter member of the Early Days Gas Engine/Older Iron Club and was inducted into that organization’s National Hall of Fame. Oren
and Jessie were active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1828. He was past president and also served on the Veterans Honor Guard presiding over dozens of military funerals. He had attended First Baptist Church of West Plains since 1964.
Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife, Jessie, West Plains; son Edward, Memphis, Tennessee; daughter Donna and her husband Mike Hayes, West Plains; grandsons Brian Sanders and wife Amanda of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Mark Sanders of Wichita, Kansas; and great grandchildren Brittany and Ross Sanders of Ft. Worth. He is also survived by step-grandchildren Andrew, Elizabeth, Taylor and
Owen Wesley Ray, 76, West Plains departed this life March 21, 2016 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri.
He was born February 10, 1940 at West Plains, Missouri to Owen and Rosalie Ray.
On January 20, 1960, he was married in West Plains to Elsie Lea Mayo.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa, of the home, West Plains; two children, Michele McHan and husband, Steve of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Gina Ray of West Plains, Missouri; three grandsons, James Michael Crabtree, Fort Worth, Texas, Matthew and Justin Brashers of West Plains.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister.

Margaret Elizabeth Carter passed away March 19th, 2016 after a seven month battle with cancer.
She was born on February 15, 1942 to the late Hobert Miller and Gertrude Judd Miller.
She is survived by her husband Carl Carter; two sons Ronn Carter and Roger Carter and wife Christine; grandchildren, Shayna and Kayla Carter, Eli and Levi Louia, and Andrew Stovall, as well as sisters, Cora Winfrey of Marshall, Missouri, Menerva McKenzie and Peggy Huddleston of West Plains, Missouri; Fern Harris of Sedalia, Missouri, and Faye Johnston of Illinois, along with two dozen nieces and nephews.
Linda Lou (Martin) Dethrow was born the daughter of Roy Martin and Inez (Harmon) Martin on October 22, 1939, in Couch, Missouri, and departed this life in West Plains, Missouri, on March 18, 2016, at the age of 76 years.
She was united in marriage on June 22, 1957, in Thayer, Missouri, to Howard Dethrow.
She is survived by her husband, Howard of the home in Couch, Missouri; one daughter, Janet Bennett and husband, Clifton of Couch, Missouri; two granddaughters, Andrea Nicholson and husband, Dennis of Couch, Missouri and Krystal Wiersma and husband, Brian of Ankeny, Iowa; four great grandchildren, Dalton and Carter Nicholson, Emilynn and Madalynn Wiersma; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Inez Martin.
Linda was a long time member of Garfield Free Will Baptist Church. She was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed helping on the family farm.
She will be remembered as devoted wife, a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and a friend to all. She will truly be missed by her family and the community in which she lived.

Robert Lowell Langston, son of the late Z.T. Langston and Mae Harper Langston, was born December 29, 1920 in Couch, Missouri and departed this life March 17, 2016.
He was married November 6, 1943 in Duluth, Minnesota in a military wedding to Marjorie Anderson, who preceded him in death February 27, 2008. They were happily married for 64 years.
He is survived by his three daughters, Marjorie Kathryn Shultz and husband Tom, Mt. Prospect, Illinois, Elizabeth Mae Morgan and husband Ken, Grapevine, Texas, and Cynthia Ann Bauer and husband Joe, Alton, Missouri; six grandchildren, Kelly DeLavergne, Bloomingdale, Illinois, Daniel Robert Feeney, Kirkland, Washington, Eric Morgan and wife Trisha, Irvine, California, Meghan Griffith and husband Ben, Maumelle, Arkansas, Tim Shultz and wife, Stephanie, Griffith, Indiana, and Christine Pollock and husband Brandon, Valparaiso, Indiana; six great grandchildren, Patty DeLavergne, Bloomingdale, Illinois, Ainsely Feeney, Oakland, Tennessee, Sienna Mae Morgan, Irvine, California, Kellen Morgan, Irvine, California, Jackson Robert Griffith, Maumelle, Arkansas, and Gracie Griffith, Maumelle, Arkansas; one sister, Olive deLadurantaye, Hampton, Virginia, and numerous nieces and nephews, and loving friends.

He was a veteran of WWII serving 38 months in the United States Coast Guard and one year in Naval Reserves after WWII. He was also a member of the Civil Conservation Corps organization after high school graduation.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mo. Synod of West Plains, Missouri, baptized in that faith with his three daughters at Christ The Redeemer Lutheran Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1956. He spent 35 years in the electrical industry in Oklahoma, Illinois, and Kentucky. He was a civil war historian and a long time member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Oregon County Historical Society. He will be missed by his loving family and friends.

He was born the son of the late Wilford Wayne Coleman and Gertrude Elizabeth Sanders Coleman, on May 15, 1956 in West Plains, Missouri and died March 15, 2016 in West Plains, Missouri.
He is survived by two sisters, Oretha Lee Cobb and husband Ron, West Plains, and Pamela Studyvin, West Plains, Missouri; two nephews, John Cobb and wife Juliet, West Plains and Sam Cobb and wife Rachel, West Plains; two nieces, Rebekah Studyvin, Fairway, Kansas and Sarah Studyvin, Montclaire, New Jersey; ten great-grand nieces and nephews, Andrew, Patrick, and Daniel Cobb; Reed, Brooks, Jane, Blythe, Graham, Tess, and Claire Cobb; several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and special friends, Allen, Billy and Lonnie Deckard.
